Toyota Indus is a joint venture between Indus Motor Company and Japan’s multinational Toyota Motors Corporation. Indus Toyota Motor Company (ITM) founds in Karachi on July 1, 1990.

 ITM is manufacturing various models of Toyota automobiles in Pakistan. Toyota Hilux is a specific model for both types of territories, i.e., urban and off-road. Toyota Indus Motors manufactures their Hilux in two models, the Hilux Single cabin & Hilux Double Cabin with different configurations.

In Pakistan Hilux single cabin has multiple uses, from carriage to transport of passengers. Two-person seating is available in the house, driver and passenger in Hilux Single cabin. In Pakistan, Hilux Double Cabin is famous compared to a single place.

Toyota Hilux Single & Double cabins are both 4×4 by their category. Both Hilux models have a displacement of 2755cc. With this power, these vehicles can go anywhere in the off-road territory. Both have 80 litres capacity in fuel tanks.

Toyota Hilux has two basic models; the First model of the Hilux is Toyota Hilux Single Cabin. This model has four subdivisions: the Hilux 4×4, Hilux 4×2 up-spec, Hilux 4×2, and Hilux Deckless.

The second model in the Hilux is the Hilux Double Cabin E. This model comes in only a 4×4 category with three more people seated in the back row of the cabin. This model has some minor differences as compared to Hilux Single Cabin. Toyota Revo is a very good off-road vehicle and these vehicles can go anywhere in the off-road territory.

Now, I will discuss both main models in brevity.

Toyota Hilux Single Cabin:

Toyota Indus Motor manufactures this Hilux model in Pakistan with four models with minor differences from each other. These models include the Hilux 4×4, Hilux 4×2 up-spec, Hilux 4×2, and Hilux Deckless.

The most popular of these models is Hilux Single cabin with 4×4 category. The main reason behind its popularity is our fellow citizens’ multipurpose use of this vehicle, from transporting passengers to the carriage and many other purposes.

Toyota Indus motor offers this model with 1GD-FTV (Hi) with a displacement of 2755cc. This engine has four cylinders with an inline arrangement. This engine uses a standard rail diesel engine (D-4D). This vehicle comes with a hydraulic steering system with a mechanical tilt lock.

This vehicle equips with a manual air conditioner. This vehicle uses six-speed manual transmission with a ventilated disc at the front brake and leading trailing drum brakes at the rear side.

Toyota Hilux Double Cabin:

Toyota Indus Motor offers Hilux Double Cabin for customers who usually drive their vehicles off-road terrain. The main difference in this vehicle is the extra seating capacity for three persons in the back row.

Like the Single cabin, this Double Cabin model also uses a 1GD-FTV (Hi) engine with a displacement of 2755cc. This engine uses the fuel system of a common-rail diesel engine (D-4D) and uses a six-speed manual gear system.

The Toyota Double cabin uses a ventilated disc at the front and leading trailing drum brakes at the rear. This vehicle uses double-wishbone suspension on its front side and rigid leaf suspension on its rear side.

Grille:

Toyota Indus Motors has introduced a similar grille for the Hilus Single & Doule cabin models. Both have the same design for their grille and the placement on the radiator’s front side.

Bumper:

Both models have the same design for their frontal bumpers except for their colour. In Hilux single cabin, the default colour for the ex-factory bumper is black with a number plate on the front and lower sides. Hilux double cabin comes in the same colour as the rest body colour.

Ground Clearance:

In Hilux Single cabin, the ground clearance is around 294mm. The Hilux models drive off-road and need enough ground clearance because of rough terrain. Hilux Single cabin is quite famous for transporting goods in off-road regions of KPK and Baluchistan.

In the Hilux Double cabin, the ground clearance is around 286mm. This vehicle uses in rough and urban regions more often. This model has less height in ground clearance than a single cabin.

Seats:

Only one row of seats is available in the Hilux single cabin with 4:6 of 2 persons. Compared to all other models of Toyota Indus motors, these two Hilux models have standard seats based on extra feature availability. Only the driver’s seat can adjust with sliding movement, but reclining action can change for the driver and passenger’s seat.

In the Hilux double cabin, there are two rows of seats with the driver and passenger in the front. Three passengers are on the rear side of the house. The system of the vehicle seats is manual.

Spacious:

In a Single cabin Hilux, the overall space between the dashboard and seat is considered spacious. Driver and passenger can easily sit in for longer journeys. In Double cabin Hilux, Both rows have decent space with each other.

Sun Visors:

Both Hilux models have two sun visors for the driver and passenger of the front seat row. In the double cabin rear, passengers don’t have sun visors. Instead, they have shaded rear door glass which stops getting in the sunlight.

Head Lamps:

Toyota Indus Motor is offering headlamps with halogen lamps technology. Both these models have these lamps. According to Toyota Indus Motors, they plan to use LED headlamps and tail lamps soon.

Fuel:

Both these models use diesel as their primary fuel. The capacity for both models is 80 litres in tanks. The exhaust emission standard is EURO II in both vehicle models.

Airbags:

Airbags are available in both models for the front driver and passenger seats only. Airbags can replace in only in Toyota Indus Motors authorized service centres.
