Super Power Nitro R300 overview and our opinion

Engine and gearbox

Despite the R300 badge, the Nitro’s engine displaces 271.3cc. It is a single-cylinder, four-stroke unit with oil cooling and a balance shaft to reduce vibration. Launch reports quote 16 kW, about 21.5 hp, at 8,500 rpm and 22 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, slightly more torque than the twin-cylinder Titan. It uses electronic fuel injection and a six-speed gearbox. Super Power claims 3.0 litres per 100 km, about 33 km per litre, which is a manufacturer figure.

Size and practicality

The Nitro measures 2,095 x 770 x 1,105 mm, with a 1,325 mm wheelbase, 150 mm of ground clearance and a 775 mm seat height. In our view, the shorter wheelbase should make it more agile in traffic than the long Titan, while the seat is still low enough for most riders. The 16-litre fuel tank is larger than the Titan’s 13 litres, which helps on long trips. It rides on 17-inch tubeless tyres: 100/80-17 at the front and 130/70-17 at the rear. The dry weight has not been published.

Equipment

The Nitro is sold in one version. It has disc brakes front and rear with ABS, electric start, tubeless tyres and remote ignition. It does not get the Titan’s traction control, dual front discs or dual cameras. Red is the only colour listed so far. In our view, remote ignition is a handy convenience for daily use. Super Power has not yet published a specification page for the Nitro on its own website, so suspension, lighting, instrument and weight details were not available when this was written. Check these on the showroom bike before booking, and ask whether the introductory price includes registration.

Warranty

Warranty terms for the Nitro R300 have not been published. Ask the dealer for written details on warranty length, coverage and service intervals, and check that parts such as brake pads and filters are stocked locally.

Which version to buy

There is only one version, and Rs 755,000 is an introductory price that may change. In our opinion the Nitro is the more sensible of Super Power’s two new big bikes for most riders: it costs Rs 195,000 less than the Titan, has a bigger tank and similar torque, and still offers ABS and fuel injection. Choose the Titan only if you want its twin-cylinder engine, traction control and cruiser-style riding position. As with any new model, confirm dealer support, spare-part supply and resale expectations before you commit.
