Road Prince RX3 250 overview and our opinion

Engine and gearbox

The Road Prince RX3 is the company’s flagship motorcycle and its only adventure-touring model. Its 250cc engine is liquid-cooled, with four valves, an overhead camshaft and a counter-balancer to reduce vibration. Road Prince quotes 24.5 hp at 9,000 rpm and 16.6 lb-ft (about 22.5 Nm) of torque at 7,000 rpm. Bore and stroke are 77 mm and 53.6 mm. Fuel is supplied by a Delphi electronic fuel-injection system that Road Prince says meets Euro-3 standards, and power goes through a six-speed constant-mesh gearbox. Starting is electric.

Size and practicality

The RX3 is a large bike: 2130 mm long, 868 mm wide and 1260 mm tall, with a 1400 mm wheelbase and 210 mm of ground clearance. It weighs 175 kg dry and the seat is 795 mm high, so shorter riders should try it before buying. The 16-litre fuel tank, inverted front forks, rear mono-shock and spoked wheels with 100/90R18 front and 130/70R17 rear tyres are set up for long trips and broken roads. Side boxes and a top box with keyed locks are fitted as standard, and the passenger seat can be removed with the ignition key.

Equipment

Only one version is sold, in blue, orange, red or white. It has disc brakes at both ends (262 mm front, 258 mm rear), an LCD dash with an analogue tachometer and digital speedometer, frame-mounted front and rear guards, a steel engine skid plate, tapered aluminium handlebars with bar-end weights, waterproof automotive-type wiring connectors and handlebar-switched accessory power plugs. ABS is not mentioned on the official page.

Price and warranty

The Road Prince website shows no price and marks the RX3 as out of stock. Gari.pk and PriceOye list it at Rs 1,100,000, while PakWheels shows Rs 1,090,000. Check availability and the final price with a dealer before planning a purchase. Warranty terms are not published in readable form on the official site, which shows only scanned warranty forms.

Which variant to buy

There is one RX3. In our opinion it offers a lot of touring equipment for the money, especially the luggage, crash protection and fuel injection, and its liquid-cooled engine is far more modern than anything else Road Prince sells. The main concerns are its weight, the lack of any mention of ABS and its current out-of-stock status. If you want a long-distance bike and can find one, it is worth a test ride. Also budget for higher running costs than a commuter, including larger tyres, coolant and fuel-injection servicing, and confirm a nearby dealer can handle them.
