Hyundai Porter H-100 overview and our opinion

Engine and gearbox

Every Porter H-100 uses a 2,607cc naturally aspirated diesel engine meeting Euro II emissions. Hyundai Nishat quotes 78 hp at 4,000 rpm and 167 Nm at 2,200 rpm, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The figures are modest, but in our view they suit a vehicle built for carrying loads at city speeds rather than for fast motorway driving. A load-sensing proportioning valve is standard, adjusting rear braking to the load being carried. Hyundai Nishat lists a maximum braked towing weight of 1.3 tonnes. No official fuel economy figure is published.

Size and practicality

The Porter is 4,850mm long, 1,740mm wide and 1,970mm tall, with a 2,430mm wheelbase and 185mm of ground clearance. Gross vehicle weight is 3,015 kg. The cargo body measures 2,785mm long, 1,630mm wide and 355mm deep. The cabin seats three people on brown fabric upholstery, and the fuel tank holds 65 litres. Suspension uses double wishbones with torsion bars at the front and semi-elliptic leaf springs at the rear, with ventilated front discs and rear drums. A full-size steel spare wheel is included, and the steel wheels wear 205/70 R15 tyres.

Equipment by variant

All versions share hydraulic power steering, halogen headlamps, tinted glass, a side step and an audio-ready setup with two speakers. The three body styles suit different jobs: the Deckless is a cab-chassis for buyers who want to build their own body, the Flat Deck has a flat loading bed, and the High Deck has a deck with side walls for loose cargo. Each body style is offered with or without factory air conditioning, which adds PKR 110,000. All Porters come in Snow White. Hyundai Nishat does not list airbags or ABS for the Porter.

Warranty

Hyundai Nishat’s warranty conditions give new vehicles 48 months or 100,000 km of cover, whichever comes first. Check with a dealer whether commercial use affects the terms. Paint is covered for 24 months or 50,000 km. Prices are ex-factory Faisalabad and include FED, CVT and sales tax; freight and insurance are charged separately.

Which variant to buy

In our opinion, the High Deck with AC at PKR 4,620,000 is the most useful choice for general goods transport, because it is ready to load on day one and the AC makes long working days in Pakistani heat far more bearable. The Deckless without AC is the cheapest option and makes sense only if you plan to fit a specialised body, such as a refrigerated box or a tanker.
