Zongfa Z-Tron

Battery and motor

The Zongfa Z-Tron is one of the newer electric models on ZhongFa EV’s official website. No price has been published yet, so we list it as upcoming. It is powered by a 1500 W motor and a 72V 30Ah lithium battery. ZhongFa EV quotes a top speed of more than 60 km/h and a range of more than 80 km per charge. Charging takes 3 hours with a 10A charger according to the specification table, while the headline figure says 2 to 3 hours. On paper these numbers match the 007, and they put the Z-Tron ahead of the 60V Zongfa scooters for speed.

Size and practicality

The Z-Tron rides on 12-inch wheels front and rear and has a maximum rated load of more than 170 kg, so it is designed to carry a rider and passenger. ZhongFa EV’s own video shows it being ridden on the motorway, but at a 60 km/h-plus top speed it is better suited to city roads and ring roads, in our opinion. Dimensions, weight, seat height and suspension details have not been published, so check these once it reaches showrooms.

Equipment

The official page lists front and rear disc brakes, a digital dashboard with what the company calls a clear and smart interface, intuitive handlebar controls and an LED lighting system with a bright LED headlight and a distinctive lighting design. It is shown in orange, black and ash gray. The page does not mention storage, USB charging or ABS.

Warranty

ZhongFa EV says its bikes come with warranty cover on the motor, battery and controller, but no warranty period has been published for the Z-Tron. Confirm the terms once it goes on sale, and ask whether the battery is covered for the same period as the motor and controller, because the battery is the most costly component to replace on any electric two-wheeler.

Which version to buy

A single version is listed. With no official price, it is not yet possible to judge its value against the rest of the range. In our opinion, the Z-Tron and 007 share the same core hardware, so the choice will come down to styling and whether you need the 007’s front storage compartment. Riders wanting more range and speed should compare it with the Z6 2000, which has a bigger 72V 50Ah battery and an 80 km/h top speed. Wait for official pricing and a test ride before booking.
