Both Premium versions use the engine Super Power calls the SP Premium 70CC: a 78cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke unit with air cooling. Bore and stroke are 47.0 x 41.4 mm and the compression ratio is 8.8:1. The quoted output is 7.0 PS at 8,500 rpm, about 6.9 hp, and torque is 0.55 kg-m, about 5.4 Nm, at 6,500 rpm. Drive goes through a four-speed gearbox and a wet plate clutch, with CDI ignition. Super Power claims 70 km per litre, which is a manufacturer figure rather than an independent test result.
The Premium measures 1,885 x 760 x 990 mm and has a dry weight of 82 kg, so it is easy to handle in traffic and simple to park. It uses a backbone-type frame and a 10-litre fuel tank. The official page lists 2.25-17 4PR tyres. Ground clearance is given as 35 mm, which is very likely a typing error, so ask the dealer for the correct figure. Both versions share these size and weight figures, so the choice between them will not change how the bike fits you, how easily it parks or how far it goes on a tank of petrol.
The standard SP 70 Premium costs Rs 125,000 in red or black. Its official page lists a self and kick starter, which is unusual at this price, so make sure the bike in the showroom actually has an electric starter. The SP 70 Premium Self Start costs Rs 144,000 and is sold in red or black with alloy rims; its name and the homepage confirm the self-starter and the alloy wheels. Beyond these points, Super Power does not publish an equipment list for either version.
Super Power’s website does not publish warranty terms for the Premium. Ask your dealer for the coverage period, the parts included and the free service schedule in writing.
This is our opinion. If the standard Premium in the showroom really has a self-starter, it is the better value, because the Self Start version charges Rs 19,000 more and the published difference is mainly the alloy rims. If the standard bike turns out to be kick-start only, the Self Start is worth considering for riders who stop and start often, such as delivery riders and commuters in heavy traffic. Alloy rims also mean no spokes to tighten or clean. Riders who only need basic transport may find the cheaper SP 70 Dollar enough.
