The Chrome Edition is powered by a 78cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine with an overhead camshaft and air cooling. Super Power lists a bore and stroke of 47.0 x 41.4 mm and a compression ratio of 8.8:1. Peak output is given as 7.0 PS at 8,500 rpm, roughly 6.9 hp, with 0.55 kg-m, or about 5.4 Nm, of torque at 6,500 rpm. A four-speed gearbox and a wet plate clutch handle the drive, and the ignition is a CDI electronic system. The claimed fuel economy is 70 km per litre, a factory figure that you should treat as a best case.
On paper the Chrome Edition is the same size as the SP 70 Dollar: 1,885 mm long, 760 mm wide and 990 mm tall, with a dry weight of 82 kg. That makes it easy to manage for new riders, students and anyone who has to lift the bike onto a footpath or into a narrow house entrance. The 10-litre tank should give a long range between fill-ups. The frame is a backbone type, and the official page lists 2.25-17 4PR tyres. Its ground clearance entry reads 35 mm, which appears to be a mistake, so confirm it at a dealer.
There is one version, sold in red or black at Rs 117,000 either way. The name suggests chrome styling details, but Super Power’s product page does not spell out what is different from the Dollar, and it does not list items such as a self-starter, mobile charger or lighting type. Ask to see both bikes side by side before deciding. Mechanically, the official figures for engine, gearbox, weight and tank size are identical to the Dollar’s, so any difference you notice in the showroom will be cosmetic or in fittings rather than in performance or running costs.
No warranty terms are published on Super Power’s website. Confirm the coverage period, what parts are included and the free service schedule with your dealer, and keep the paperwork safe.
With only one version on sale, the decision is about colour and whether the Chrome Edition’s finish is worth Rs 3,000 over the Dollar. In our view the extra cost is small, so if you like the look, it is a sensible buy for daily commuting and short trips. If you want an electric starter, the Premium Self Start is the model to look at, though it costs Rs 27,000 more than the Chrome Edition.
