Revoo Y04

Battery and motor

The Y04 uses a 350W motor and a 48V 12Ah portable lithium battery. Revoo quotes a top speed of up to 30 km/h and a range of up to 45 km. Charging takes 6 to 7 hours and uses about 0.58 units of electricity per full charge. A 6-tube vector controller manages power delivery.

The main attraction is the portable battery. Riders who live in flats or cannot park next to a socket can take the battery inside to charge it.

Size and practicality

At 40 kg, the Y04 is the lightest Revoo. It measures 1,430 mm long, 665 mm wide and 1,065 mm tall, so it fits in narrow lanes and small parking spaces. Ground clearance is 135 mm, which calls for care over speed breakers. It uses 60/100-10 vacuum (tubeless) tyres, drum brakes at both ends and mechanical suspension front and rear. Revoo also highlights a scratch-protected chassis.

Revoo does not list seat height or storage space for the Y04.

Equipment by variant

There is one Y04 version at Rs 119,000. Its equipment list is short: removable lithium battery, scratch-protected body and tubeless tyres. Revoo does not mention a digital display, LED lights or disc brakes.

Charging and running costs

Revoo publishes how many units of electricity each battery takes to charge fully. Using the example rate of Rs 30 per unit that Revoo uses on its Pakistan website, the Y04 uses about 0.58 units, roughly Rs 17 per full charge or about Rs 0.39 per km at its claimed maximum range. Revoo notes that real costs depend on local tariffs and riding habits.

Because the battery can be carried inside, the Y04 can be charged at home or in an office even when the scooter itself is parked on the street or in a basement without a socket.

Warranty

Revoo covers the Y04’s battery for 24 months and the motor for 24 months, a better battery warranty than the cheaper A04.

Which variant to buy

Our opinion: the Y04 is best for short neighbourhood trips by one rider, for example to school, the market or a nearby office, especially if you cannot charge at your parking spot. Compared with the Rs 100,000 A04, you pay Rs 19,000 more for a removable battery, a slightly longer range and double the battery warranty, but you lose the A04’s front basket and large passenger seat. If you need more range, the Y06 is the next step up.
