The Hamsafar Chrome sits between Ravi’s 78cc models and its 100cc bikes. Ravi’s price list describes a 90cc single-cylinder, four-stroke engine and calls it fuel efficient, but it does not give power, torque, gearbox or mileage figures, and we did not find dependable third-party numbers. On paper, the larger capacity should give a little more pulling power than the 78cc Hamsafar Plus, but this is our expectation rather than a published figure.
Ravi has not published dimensions, weight or fuel tank capacity for the Chrome. It is built on Ravi’s own sheet-metal frame, the type of frame the company uses across its range and promotes as stronger and heavier than rivals’ frames. Before buying, confirm the seat height, tank size and tyre sizes with the dealer, especially if you are shorter or plan to ride long distances between fuel stops.
The main selling point is appearance. Ravi lists a new chrome design and an elegant chrome look, giving the bike more shine than the plain Hamsafar Plus. Ravi does not mention self start, alloy wheels or disc brakes for this model, so buyers should assume a basic specification unless the dealer confirms otherwise. It is sold in one version at Rs 111,000 ex-factory.
Ravi’s price list gives a warranty of 10 months or 10,000 km, matching its other petrol motorcycles.
With only one version, the choice is between the Chrome and Ravi’s other bikes. In our opinion, the Chrome is a sensible middle option for riders who want a little more engine than a 70cc-class bike without paying 100cc prices: it costs Rs 2,500 more than the Hamsafar Plus and Rs 5,000 less than the Premium RX. Chrome parts need regular cleaning to stay free of rust in humid or coastal cities, so factor that into ownership. Rivals include the Honda CD 70, United US 70 and Road Prince RP 70. Those bikes have smaller engines but wider service networks and, in Honda’s case, much stronger resale value. Because Ravi publishes few technical details for the Chrome, ask to see the specification sheet and take a test ride before booking.
