Hi-Speed SR 70 overview and our opinion

Engine and gearbox

The SR 70 uses Hi-Speed’s PR250-A engine, a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled unit of 78cc with a 47.0 × 49.5 mm bore and stroke and a 9.2:1 compression ratio. It is started with a kick lever and drives the rear wheel through a 4-speed gearbox with a multi-plate wet clutch, the same simple layout Pakistani riders know from the 70cc class. Hi-Speed does not publish power, torque or fuel-economy figures on its website. PakWheels quotes a fuel average of about 45 km/l and an 8-litre tank, but Hi-Speed has not confirmed these numbers, so treat them as a guide only.

Size and practicality

Hi-Speed gives the length, width and height as 1915 × 850 × 1210 mm, the dry weight as 83 kg and the minimum ground clearance as 136 mm. The rear tyre size is 2.50-17. A dry weight in the low 80s is typical for this class and makes the bike easy to push, park and put on its stand, which helps students, delivery riders and first-time riders. The official table does not list the wheelbase, seat height, suspension or front tyre size.

Equipment by variant

The official website lists three versions: the standard SR 70, the SR 70 Silver and the SR 70 Gold. All three use exactly the same specification table (model SR-70CC 2025), so the differences are paint and trim rather than mechanical changes. Equipment is basic: kick start and a 4-speed gearbox, with no electric start, digital meter or other convenience features mentioned. The brake row of the official table reads only “Front / Rear” without saying drum or disc, so we have not listed disc brakes. Ask the dealer to show you the brakes before you buy.

Price and warranty

Hi-Speed’s website does not publish prices or warranty terms. PakWheels lists the standard SR 70 at Rs 108,000. The Hi-Speed Official store on AlfaMall has listed the Gold edition at Rs 126,500 and the standard model at Rs 121,500, which is higher than the PakWheels figure, so confirm the current rate with your nearest dealer. We could not find a price for the Silver edition.

Which variant to buy

In our opinion, the standard SR 70 is the sensible choice if you simply want the cheapest way to get around, because the Silver and Gold editions add looks rather than features. Pick a special edition only if you like the finish and the extra cost at your dealer is small. Before buying any 70cc bike from a smaller brand, it is also worth checking local spare-parts stock and likely resale value, which are usually stronger for the market leader.
