The RM-i500 has a 1200-watt motor and a 12-tube controller, and Hi-Speed quotes a top speed of 45 to 50 km/h. Charging takes 3 to 6 hours, and the battery is rated for 1,000 cycles. As on the other RM models, Hi-Speed does not list the battery voltage, capacity, chemistry or range. PakWheels lists 110 km of range and a 6-hour charge, but those figures do not come from Hi-Speed, so ask for official numbers.
This is a compact scooter at 1710 × 730 × 1135 mm, shorter than the RM-i100 and RM-i900. It uses 80/90-12 tubeless tyres and has disc brakes on both wheels. The shorter length should make it easier to park and manoeuvre in tight streets. Weight, seat height and ground clearance are not published by Hi-Speed; PakWheels quotes 150 mm of ground clearance.
There is one version. Hi-Speed lists LED headlight and daytime running lights, front and rear disc brakes and tubeless tyres. Convenience features such as reverse, cruise control or a USB port are not mentioned on the official page. PakWheels lists green, grey and white colours.
Hi-Speed gives an 18-month motor warranty; the battery warranty is not stated. Prices are not published on the official site. PakWheels’ Hi-Speed price list shows Rs 225,000, but its model page shows Rs 230,000 and an older JS Bank store listing showed Rs 253,000, so confirm with a dealer. Note also that the official page address uses the name ‘Blaze 500’, while PakWheels lists a separate, cheaper ‘Blaze-500’ at Rs 130,000, so make sure you are quoted for the 1200-watt RM-i500.
With a 3 to 6 hour charging time, the RM-i500 can be charged overnight or topped up during the day from a normal socket. As an electric scooter it needs no petrol, engine oil or tuning. The battery is the main long-term cost, and since its warranty is not stated, in our opinion you should ask the dealer for the battery type, warranty and replacement cost, and check where the nearest service point is.
In our opinion, the RM-i500 is a reasonable choice if you want a compact, easy-to-park scooter with twin disc brakes and fairly quick charging. However, Hi-Speed’s thin specification sheet makes it hard to compare range with rivals, and the similarly priced Ninja Eco comes with a published LFP battery and a 36-month battery warranty. Ask for the battery details before deciding.
