Hi-Speed Golf overview and our opinion

Battery and motor

The Golf uses a 650-watt Nanpu differential motor driving the rear wheels, with a 12-tube Gobao controller. Hi-Speed quotes a top speed of up to 35 km/h and a range of 50 to 60 km. The 60V 24 Ah lithium iron phosphate battery comes from Phylion, has an integrated battery management system, is rated for 1,000 charging cycles and is described as non-flammable. Charging takes up to 8 hours using the 60V 3A charger.

Size and practicality

Hi-Speed lists the Golf at 2270 × 940 × 1100 mm with 120 mm of ground clearance, making it noticeably larger than the Hunter. PakWheels gives different dimensions (2015 × 1260 × 1120 mm), so check the width if you have a narrow gate or lane. It rides on 80/90-10 tubeless tyres on 10-inch aluminium rims and has drum brakes front and rear. The two-seat layout and three wheels mean the rider does not need to balance it at low speed or when stopped.

Equipment

There is one version. Equipment includes LED headlight and daytime running lights, an LCD digital meter with battery percentage, reverse mode, an anti-theft lock and alarm, two remotes, two NFC cards, a rear-view mirror and a tool kit. It has no USB port, no side-stand sensor and no cruise control.

Warranty and price

Hi-Speed provides a motor warranty of 18 months or 15,000 km and a battery warranty of 36 months or 40,000 km. Hi-Speed does not publish prices; PakWheels lists the Golf at Rs 355,000.

Charging and running costs

The Golf is designed for overnight charging from an ordinary socket, and as an electric vehicle it needs no petrol, engine oil or tuning, which keeps day-to-day costs low. The 36-month or 40,000 km battery warranty covers the most expensive part for the first three years. In our view, also ask the dealer where the nearest service point is and how quickly parts for the differential motor can be supplied, as three-wheelers are less common than scooters.

Is it worth buying?

In our opinion, the Golf is aimed at a specific buyer: someone who wants a stable, easy electric vehicle for short trips with a passenger, such as elderly riders, people with balance concerns or families making school and market runs in a quiet area. The LFP battery, long battery warranty and reverse mode are real strengths. On the other hand, drum brakes, a 35 km/h top speed and the Rs 355,000 price mean it is not a substitute for a scooter on busy roads.
