Hi-Speed Battlo 200 overview and our opinion

Engine and gearbox

The Battlo uses the CPS200 engine, a single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled unit with a single overhead camshaft. It shares the 198.8cc displacement and 65.5 × 59 mm bore and stroke of the Freedom but runs a higher 9.33:1 compression ratio and is tuned for more power: Hi-Speed quotes 13 kW (about 17.4 hp) at 8,500 rpm and 15 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Fuel is fed by a carburettor with CDI ignition, and starting is electric. Hi-Speed claims a top speed of 120 to 130 km/h but does not state the number of gears.

Size and practicality

The bike measures 2028 × 805 × 1075 mm, with a 1380 mm wheelbase and a curb weight of 140 kg. Ground clearance is a tall 175 mm, the highest of any Hi-Speed petrol bike, so speed breakers and broken roads should not be a problem. The fuel tank holds 13 litres. Tubeless tyres in sport sizes are fitted: 100/80-17 at the front and 130/70-17 at the rear. Hi-Speed does not list seat height or suspension type.

Equipment

There is one version. Official equipment includes disc brakes front and rear, electric start, tubeless tyres and CDI ignition. A PakWheels comparison article also mentions LED headlights, daytime running lights and a digital-analogue meter, which Hi-Speed’s own spec table does not list. There is no fuel injection and no ABS mentioned.

Price and warranty

Hi-Speed does not publish a price or warranty online, and the Battlo does not appear in PakWheels’ main Hi-Speed price list. A PakWheels comparison with the GPX Raptor Plus RZ200 gives its price as around Rs 625,000, and some dealer adverts show about Rs 6 lakh, so confirm the current figure at your dealer.

Before you buy

Ask the dealer to confirm the gearbox, the lighting and whether a warranty card comes with the bike, since none of these appear in Hi-Speed’s own table. In our view a sporty 200cc like this rewards a careful test ride: check the riding position on a longer trip, and compare insurance and registration costs with the rival you are considering, because the purchase price is only part of the cost.

Is it worth buying?

In our opinion, the Battlo is the Hi-Speed to pick if you want a sporty 200cc with strong claimed power, good ground clearance and disc brakes, and you prefer a simple carburettor engine that local mechanics understand. At roughly Rs 6 lakh, though, it faces rivals that offer fuel injection and six-speed gearboxes, and PakWheels’ own comparison notes the GPX alternative is cheaper. Test-ride both and check spare-parts availability in your city before deciding.
