Every MF 260 uses the T3.1524, a 2.5-litre three-cylinder diesel with a turbocharger and direct injection. Millat rates it at 60 hp (BS) at 2,250 rpm with 212 Nm at 1,600 rpm, and estimates 48 hp at the PTO. The standard model has an air-cooled, fin-type oil cooler while the Deluxe gets a water-cooled one. All versions use a dual clutch and an 8-forward, 2-reverse sliding-spur gearbox, reaching 27.9 km/h in top gear on 14.9/13-28 rear tyres.
The standard MF 260 is 3,252 mm long, 1,872 mm wide and 2,210 mm tall over the exhaust, with a 1,884 mm wheelbase, 410 mm of ground clearance and a weight of 1,925 kg. The Deluxe is stretched to 3,450 mm on a 2,230 mm wheelbase, weighs 2,100 kg and has 450 mm of clearance, though its turning circle grows from 7,370 mm to 8,760 mm. Both carry 50 litres of fuel and run 7.50-16 front and 14.9/13-28 rear tyres. The straddle rear axle with epicyclic reduction is shared across the range.
All MF 260s have oil-immersed multi-disc brakes with mechanical actuation, a live 540 rpm PTO, and draft, position and response control hydraulics lifting 2,145 kg. Standard items include a weight frame, tool box, USB port, rear-view mirror, spring-suspension seat, flat-top fenders, wider heat shield and maintenance-free 88 Ah battery. The standard model keeps manual steering. The Deluxe adds hydrostatic power steering and a sun canopy and, according to Millat’s product page, a heavy-duty front axle and spindles, higher-ply tyres and a spacious operator area with transmission cover. The third variant is the Deluxe supplied with front weights.
The official specification sheets do not list a warranty period, so ask the dealer for written terms before booking.
Our view: the Deluxe is the one to buy for most farmers. For Rs 264,480 over the standard model you get power steering, a canopy, a longer wheelbase and more ground clearance, which make long days on the seat and trolley work easier. Choose the standard MF 260 if budget is tight and you mainly do PTO work such as tube wells and threshers, where its turbo engine and oil-immersed brakes already beat the MF 240. The front-weight version costs Rs 134,520 more than the plain Deluxe; it is worth it if you use heavy rear implements or pull loaded trolleys that lift the front end, a problem Millat’s own FAQ says front weights solve.
