Engine and gearbox

United’s motorcycle rickshaw is built around a 97cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine with an overhead camshaft, cooled by air, with an 8.1:1 compression ratio. Power goes through a 4-speed gearbox, and the engine is started with a kick lever only; United does not list a self-starter. The engine holds 0.8 litres of oil and the vehicle uses a 12-volt battery. United does not publish power, torque or fuel economy figures, so ask the dealer for a mileage estimate based on local operators’ experience.

Size and practicality

The fuel tank holds 8.5 litres. Tyres are 2.50-18 (4-ply) at the front and 2.75-18 (6-ply) at the rear, the narrow, tall motorcycle-type tyres typical of this kind of rickshaw. Both brakes are mechanical drums. United does not state the seating capacity, the dimensions or the maximum load for either version, so check how many passengers the body is designed and registered for in your city before you buy.

Equipment by variant

United’s homepage shows two versions: the MP and the New Edition, both labelled 100cc. The model page gives one shared specification table and does not explain how the two differ. On paper they share the same engine, gearbox, tyres, brakes and tank, so any difference is likely to be in the passenger body and trim. This is our reading, not an official statement; compare both versions at a dealer.

Price and warranty

United does not publish an ex-factory price list for its three-wheelers on its website, and the product pages do not state any warranty period. As a rough guide, gari.pk lists the United 100cc Motorcycle Rickshaw at PKR 155,000, but that listing dates from 2022 and does not name a version. The customer service page lists a nationwide warranty dealer network and an aftersales helpline in Lahore. Before paying a booking amount, ask an authorised United dealer for the current price, delivery time and warranty terms in writing.

Which variant to buy

Our view: since the official mechanical specifications are the same for the MP and the New Edition, choose the one whose passenger body, seating layout and finish suit your route, and compare the dealer prices side by side. Buyers who drive long shifts may prefer whichever body offers better weather protection for passengers. If you need easier starting in traffic, note that United lists kick start only for this model, while its 200cc auto rickshaws have a self-starter as well. For short neighbourhood routes, the simple 97cc layout is likely to be cheaper to maintain than a 200cc water-cooled auto rickshaw, although United publishes no running-cost figures to confirm this.
