Sazgar lists a 200cc four-stroke, water-cooled engine with CDI ignition for the Jaandar. However, the published power (8.5 kW at 7,000 rpm, about 11 hp), torque (10 Nm at 5,500 rpm) and bore and stroke are identical to the 150cc Shandar’s, so treat these figures with caution until Sazgar corrects them. A five-speed constant-mesh manual gearbox with reverse is fitted, along with a high/low power-gear selector. Top speed is quoted at 70 km/h in high range and 50 km/h in low range, with claimed economy of 28 km per litre.
The Jaandar is 3,340 mm long, 1,430 mm wide and 1,865 mm tall, and its 2,400 mm wheelbase is the longest of Sazgar’s loaders. Ground clearance is 155 mm and it runs on 5.00-12 tyres. Sazgar’s product pages quote a payload of 800 to 1,000 kg, supported by two-stage rear leaf springs with shock absorbers. The 20-litre fuel tank should give a long range between fill-ups.
Both versions share a front drum brake and a hydraulic rear disc brake, a hydraulic front shock absorber, a 12-volt electrical system and a 35 W headlight on a pipe-frame chassis. The front-hood version adds a cover that protects the driver from the weather; otherwise the specifications are the same. In 2022 Sazgar said the Jaandar came only in metallic blue.
Warranty terms are not published on Sazgar’s website. Ask the dealer to put the warranty period and coverage in writing, especially for the engine and gearbox, which work hard on a loader.
In our view, the Jaandar is a better choice than the Shandar for buyers who carry heavy goods such as water bottles, building material or produce, because of its longer wheelbase, higher ground clearance and higher quoted payload. We would pick the front-hood version for full-day use, since it should keep the driver more comfortable in sun and rain. Check the engine output with the dealer, as the official figures appear to be copied from the smaller model.
