Electric motors and range
The Kia EV5 is a fully electric SUV sold in two versions. The Air has a single front motor with 160 kW and 310 Nm and a claimed 490 km of range (NEDC). The Earth adds a rear motor for all-wheel drive, with 230 kW combined, 480 Nm and a claimed 620 km of range (NEDC). Both have a top speed of 185 km/h. Battery sizes for each variant have not been confirmed on Kia Pakistan’s site. The Air accepts 6.6 kW AC charging (about 9 hours 43 minutes from 10 to 100 percent), while the Earth accepts 11 kW three-phase AC (8 hours). Both support DC fast charging.
Size and practicality
Kia Pakistan quotes 513 litres of cargo space, and the EV5 is reported to measure 4,615 mm long, 1,875 mm wide and 1,715 mm tall with five seats. Practical touches on Kia’s page include a smart power tailgate with adjustable opening height, a rear seat table on the front seatbacks, a bench-type front seat and a hidden rear wiper. The auto-flush door handles stay hidden while the car is in Park or Drive, and the cabin uses a single wide panoramic display with touch-type buttons and multicolour mood lighting.
Equipment by variant
Both variants get six airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, ESC, traction control, hill-start assist, downhill brake control, a rear camera with guidelines, an electric parking brake, cruise control, paddle shifters, an 8-way power driver seat, an auto-dimming mirror and a 12.3-inch cluster with a 12.3-inch touchscreen. LED headlamps with star-map lights and flush door handles are standard. The Air rides on 18-inch alloys with fabric and artificial leather seats. The Earth adds 19-inch alloys, a panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, artificial leather, heated and ventilated front seats with driver massage and a relaxation seat, a wireless charger, a head-up display, fingerprint authentication, blind-spot collision avoidance and forward collision-avoidance assist.
Price and warranty
After a limited-time reduction reported in September 2026, ex-factory prices are Rs 16,850,000 for the Air (down from Rs 18,500,000) and Rs 21,850,000 for the Earth (down from Rs 23,500,000). Kia Pakistan’s general warranty is 4 years or 100,000 km; no separate EV battery warranty is published on its site.
Which variant to buy
Our opinion: the Air gives the best value and is sufficient for city use if you can charge at home. The Earth’s all-wheel drive, longer claimed range, faster AC charging and extra safety tech justify its Rs 5 million premium mainly for frequent intercity drivers.
