The Maximus 250 is the cargo version of GUGO’s 250 electric van series, sold alongside the Tourer 250 passenger van. GUGO links to its brochure on the official website, but that file contains only images, so the figures here come from PakWheels. PakWheels lists a 42 kWh battery and an electric motor of about 81 hp with an automatic gearbox. It gives a range of 225 km, with some figures on the same page going up to 300 km, and a charging time of around 8 hours. In delivery work with a full load, plan around the lower range figure.
The Maximus seats two, leaving the rest of the body for cargo. PakWheels lists 190 mm of ground clearance and 185/70 R14 tyres on steel wheels, plus up to about 5,097 litres of load space for the series. Its body shape is shared with the DFSK C37, which PakWheels says should make exterior parts easier to find. Exact dimensions and payload for the Maximus 250 have not been confirmed, because PakWheels gives conflicting figures. GUGO also sells a larger, separate cargo model, the Maximus EC 31, which its official brochure rates for a 1,440 kg load, 6.8 cubic metres of cargo space and 280 to 300 km of range; no price has been published for it.
PakWheels lists power steering, power windows, central locking, air conditioning with rear vents, fabric seats and a basic infotainment system with USB and Bluetooth. Safety equipment includes ABS with EBD, stability control, ISOFIX mounts, child locks and an immobilizer. PakWheels states that the Maximus has no airbags, which is a significant weakness for a vehicle at this price. Black and White are the listed colours.
No warranty terms for the Maximus 250 have been published. GUGO’s brochure for the larger Maximus EC 31 states a 1-year or 50,000 km general warranty and a 3-year or 100,000 km battery warranty, but this has not been confirmed for the Maximus 250.
There is a single version. Our opinion: the Maximus 250 suits businesses with predictable urban delivery routes and a place to charge vehicles overnight, such as couriers, bakeries, pharmacies and distributors. Running costs should be far lower than a petrol or diesel van. However, the purchase price is high, there are no airbags, and published information is thin. Ask GUGO for confirmed payload, real-world range under load, warranty and delivery time before ordering.
