Every GUGO Box uses a 70 kW (94 hp) front-mounted permanent-magnet motor with 180 Nm of torque and a top speed of 140 km/h, according to brochure figures reported by PakWheels. The E1 has a 31.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a claimed CLTC range of 330 km. The E2 and E3 get a larger 42.3 kWh LFP pack rated at 430 km. CLTC is a gentle Chinese test cycle, so real-world range in Pakistani traffic with the AC running will be lower.
The Box has a 6.6 kW on-board AC charger with a Type 2 socket, plus a CCS2 socket for DC fast charging. Launch reports quote about 30 minutes to reach 80% on a fast charger, and PakWheels lists around six hours for a full AC charge.
The Box is 4,030 mm long, 1,810 mm wide and 1,570 mm tall, with a 2,660 mm wheelbase, and it seats five. GUGO’s own page highlights frameless doors with hidden handles, front seats that recline to create a resting area, hidden storage compartments and an expandable boot. No boot capacity in litres has been published.
All versions get two front airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, hill start assist, ISOFIX mounts, tyre pressure monitoring, rear parking sensors, keyless entry, LED daytime running lights, electric mirrors and a 5-inch colour instrument display. The E1 has fabric seats and 16-inch wheels. The E2 adds a 12-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, a wireless phone charger, a reverse camera, cruise control, artificial leather seats and 17-inch wheels. The E3 adds automatic climate control, alloy wheels, heated mirrors and the full driver-assistance pack: automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera and automatic parking. PakWheels states that the Box does not support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
Launch coverage reported a 2-year or 100,000 km vehicle warranty and a 4-year or 150,000 km battery warranty. GUGO’s website only says that warranty terms vary by model, so ask the dealer to confirm current terms in writing.
Our opinion: the E2 is the sensible choice for most buyers. It has the bigger battery and the 430 km claimed range of the E3, plus the touchscreen, reverse camera and cruise control, for Rs 350,000 less. The E1’s smaller battery suits buyers who only drive in the city and charge at home every night. Pick the E3 only if you want the safety assistance features and 360-degree camera, which are genuinely useful but not essential. Whichever you choose, check GUGO’s service coverage in your city, because the same car is also sold in Pakistan by a different importer under the Dongfeng name.
