Battery and motor

GUGO sells the AION UT in two versions, the UT4 and the UT5. PakWheels reports that the top UT5 has a 201 hp front motor with 210 Nm of torque and a 60 kWh battery, with a claimed WLTP range of 425 km. GUGO has not published equivalent figures for the UT4; PakWheels’ listing shows it with a 134 hp motor. GUGO’s own page says the car charges from 30% to 80% in under 24 minutes on a fast charger, and PakWheels puts the UT5’s peak DC charging rate at 80 kW.

Size and practicality

The UT is 4,270 mm long, 1,850 mm wide and 1,575 mm tall. GUGO highlights its long 2,750 mm wheelbase, 905 mm of rear legroom and 1,385 mm of rear-row width, which it says fits three adults in the back. The rear seats fold completely flat to form a bed, and GUGO quotes up to 1,600 litres of luggage space with the seats folded, plus a three-level boot floor that takes a 32-inch suitcase. A heat pump and dual-layer air conditioning are standard, and GUGO says the cabin can cool by up to 30°C in 10 minutes.

Equipment by variant

GUGO’s page lists a 14.6-inch touchscreen and an 8.8-inch digital instrument display, built-in navigation, wireless phone projection, Spotify, and remote control through the GAC smartphone app. PakWheels lists six airbags for both variants. On the UT5 it adds a panoramic sunroof with electric sunshade, a full driver-assistance pack (automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure prevention, blind spot detection and door opening warning), a 360-degree camera, a six-way power driver’s seat, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, rear AC vents, a wireless phone charger and in-car Wi-Fi. GUGO has not published a separate UT4 equipment list.

Warranty

PakWheels reports a 2-year or 50,000 km vehicle warranty and a 5-year or 120,000 km battery warranty for GUGO’s AION UT. GUGO’s website does not state the terms, so confirm them in writing.

Which variant to buy

Our opinion: the UT5 is the better buy if your budget stretches, because it brings the bigger battery, more power, the sunroof and the safety assistance features. Before buying either version, note that GAC’s official Pakistani distributor, Lucky Motor Corporation, now sells the AION UT too, with its own variants, prices and dealer network. Compare both offers, and check which importer will honour the warranty and supply parts in your city.
