GAC Hyptec HT

Battery and motor

The Hyptec HT is the flagship of GAC’s Pakistani line-up, sold by Lucky Motor Corporation under GAC’s premium Hyptec brand. It is a rear-wheel-drive electric SUV with a 250 kW (335 hp) motor and 380 Nm of torque, and GAC quotes 0–100 km/h in 5.8 seconds. The 83 kWh LFP Magazine Battery gives a claimed 520 km WLTP range (620 km NEDC).

Charging

The HT uses an 800V architecture and accepts DC fast charging at up to 280 kW. GAC claims a 10–80% charge in 15 minutes on a suitable charger. Few public chargers in Pakistan can deliver that much power today, so real-world times will often be longer. AC charging is 6.6 kW, and vehicle-to-load is standard.

Size and practicality

The HT is a large SUV: 4,935 mm long, 1,920 mm wide and 1,700 mm tall, with a 2,935 mm wheelbase. Boot space ranges from 670 to 1,802 litres. The rear seats recline up to 143 degrees and come with a footrest and tray table, which suits owners who are driven by a chauffeur.

Equipment by variant

Two variants are offered, and both share the same powertrain and most equipment. The cabin has Nappa leather with a suede headliner, a 12-way electric driver’s seat and a 10-way electric passenger seat with leg rest. The front seats are ventilated, with memory and massage functions. Other features include dual-zone climate control with a PM2.5 filter and fragrance, 50 W wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, an electric tailgate and ambient lighting. The cabin also has a 14.6-inch touchscreen, an 8.88-inch cluster, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a 22-speaker Dolby Atmos system. Safety includes six airbags, a surround-view camera and front and rear sensors. The ADAS suite covers adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind spot detection and rear cross traffic alert. The Elite Plus (Rs 11,999,000) has conventional rear doors. The Ultra Gullwing Door Plus (Rs 13,999,000) adds automatic gullwing rear doors and its own wheel design.

Warranty

LMC covers the vehicle for 8 years or 160,000 km and the battery for 8 years or 200,000 km.

Which variant to buy

In our opinion, the Elite Plus is the smarter buy for most people. It has the same motor, battery and luxury equipment for Rs 2 million less. Choose the Ultra Gullwing only if the doors matter to you and you have checked the ceiling height at your home, office and mall parking.
