Battery and motor

The Chery Q (sold in some markets as the QQ3) is a battery-electric car. A single 90 kW (121 hp) motor with 111 Nm drives the rear wheels, fed by a 42.7 kWh battery that is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance. Chery Pakistan quotes a range of up to 400 km on the NEDC cycle; real-world range will be lower, especially with heavy air-conditioning use. DC fast charging from 30 to 80 percent takes about 16.5 minutes, according to Chery. Early buyers also get a 7 kW home charger, which Chery values at Rs 100,000, as part of the launch offer.

Size and practicality

The Q is 1,811 mm wide with a 2,700 mm wheelbase, which Chery says is longer than most C-segment SUVs sold in Pakistan, and it gives 152 mm of rear knee room. Ground clearance is 166 mm. Luggage space is 375 litres, rising to 1,450 litres with the rear seats folded, and there is also a powered 70-litre front boot (frunk) that can carry up to 50 kg. Chery quotes a 5.2-metre turning circle and 38 storage spaces in the cabin. It sits on 17-inch alloy wheels, and the braking system is rated to stop from 100 km/h in under 38 metres.

Equipment

The Pakistani model is offered as the Chery Q Premium. It has six airbags, a high-strength steel body, 21 Level 2 driver-assistance functions, automatic parking assist (in and out of spaces) and a 540-degree HD camera. The cabin has an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch touchscreen with wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, offline voice control, six speakers plus an exterior speaker, a 50 W wireless charger and a 6-way powered driver seat. The door mirrors are power-adjustable, heated and fold automatically when the car is locked, and the tailgate is powered.

Warranty

Chery Pakistan’s Q page does not state warranty terms, and the official brochure could not be read, so confirm the cover with a dealer before booking.

Which variant to buy

Only the Premium version is offered, so there is no variant decision to make. In our opinion, the Q is best for city drivers who can charge at home and want low running costs with a modern, well-equipped cabin. At this price it undercuts many petrol sedans and crossovers, but buyers who often drive long distances between cities should check fast-charger availability on their routes first. The introductory price is valid only for early bookings.
