Battery and motor

The BYD Sealion 7 is an electric SUV sold in Pakistan in one variant, the Advanced, at Rs 15,490,000 ex-factory. It is rear-wheel drive, with a single 230 kW (about 308 hp) motor producing 380 Nm, fed by an 82.56 kWh BYD Blade battery. BYD Pakistan claims 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and an NEDC range of up to 567 km on a full charge.

Charging

Its Type 2 port accepts AC charging at up to 11 kW, the highest AC rate in BYD’s Pakistani line-up, and the CCS2 port handles DC fast charging at up to 150 kW. A portable Mode 2 cable is included, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) lets the battery run external appliances.

Size and practicality

The Sealion 7 is 4,830 mm long, 1,925 mm wide and 1,620 mm tall, with a 2,930 mm wheelbase, making it BYD’s largest passenger model in Pakistan. It seats five and offers a 500-litre rear boot plus a 58-litre front trunk, with a hands-free power tailgate. It uses staggered 19-inch tyres, 235/50 R19 at the front and 255/45 R19 at the rear, with double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension and frequency selective damping shock absorbers.

Equipment

The single variant is generously equipped. BYD lists a panoramic glass roof with an electric shade, a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, a 10.25-inch instrument display, a head-up display, 12 Dynaudio speakers and a leather interior. The driver’s seat has 8-way power adjustment, 4-way lumbar, a power leg rest and memory; the passenger seat has 6-way power adjustment, and both front seats are ventilated. There is also RGB mood lighting, dual-zone climate control with rear vents and an air ionizer, a 50 W wireless charger and a digital key or NFC card. Airbags cover the front, front and rear sides, the curtains and the driver’s far side. Driver assistance includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and prevention, emergency lane keeping, predictive collision warning, traffic sign recognition, front and rear cross-traffic alert and brake, blind spot detection, door open warning, high beam assist, driver attention warning and a 360-degree camera.

Warranty

BYD Pakistan lists a 6-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, an 8-year or 160,000 km Blade battery warranty and a 6-year or 150,000 km warranty on the low-voltage LFP battery. At launch in January 2026, BYD also offered a 10-year low-voltage battery warranty and free installation of a 7 kW home charger, so ask whether these offers still apply.

Which variant to buy

There is only the Advanced. In our opinion it is one of the strongest value cases in BYD’s local range: it costs Rs 700,000 more than the Seal Dynamic yet brings a bigger battery, more power, an SUV body and a longer equipment list.
