The Yadea Ruibin family covers three electric scooters priced from Rs 193,000 to Rs 270,000. The standard Ruibin uses a 72V 26Ah graphene battery and an 800W motor with 80 Nm of torque, giving a quoted 80 to 90 km range and 45 km/h top speed. The Ruibin S (Sports) has a 72V 25Ah graphene battery and a 1,000W rated motor that peaks at 2,000W, with 80 Nm, an 80 km range and 50 km/h. The Ruibin L (Lithium) switches to a 72V 30Ah lithium battery and a 1,000W motor, with Yadea quoting 90 to 100 km and up to 60 km/h. Charging takes five to six hours for the Ruibin and Ruibin L, and six to seven hours for the Ruibin S.
The standard Ruibin measures 1,725 × 635 × 1,100 mm with 120 mm of ground clearance and a 150 kg maximum load. The Ruibin L is listed at 1,720 × 660 × 1,100 mm with 130 mm of ground clearance. The Ruibin S and Ruibin L ride on 10-inch tubeless tyres, and the standard Ruibin also uses tubeless tyres on alloy rims. These are compact, light-looking scooters that should be easy to park in busy markets. The Ruibin S can be fitted with a backrest and guard bar as accessories.
The standard Ruibin is the simplest, with an LED battery display and alloy rims. The Ruibin S adds front and rear disc brakes, a one-button reverse gear, traction control for wet roads, hill descent control, and Bluetooth app connectivity with proximity unlocking, family account sharing and an electronic seat lock. The Ruibin L has front and rear disc brakes, hydraulic suspension at both ends, three riding modes plus reverse, energy recovery when slowing down, keyless entry through the Yadea app, a side-stand sensor, full LED lighting with daytime running lights, alloy wheels and a USB port.
Yadea publishes a 24-month or 20,000 km battery pack replacement warranty for the Ruibin S. It does not state warranty terms on the pages for the standard Ruibin or the Ruibin L, so ask the dealer before you buy.
Our view: the Ruibin S is the best value in this family. It is the cheapest of the three yet carries the most safety technology, including disc brakes, traction control and a reverse gear. The standard Ruibin costs Rs 16,000 more with a weaker motor and fewer features, so it is hard to recommend over the S. The Ruibin L is worth the extra money if you ride long distances every day and want a lithium battery, the highest top speed and the longest range.
