The Yadea Keeness is a street-style electric motorcycle and the most expensive Yadea in Pakistan at Rs 1,400,000. It is driven by a mid-mounted motor that Yadea rates at 5,500W, with an 11kW peak and 300 Nm of torque. Yadea quotes a 100 km/h top speed, 0 to 50 km/h in 3 seconds and a 20-degree climbing ability. Power comes from two removable 72V 32Ah lithium batteries, which Yadea says give 129 km of range. Charging takes five to six hours, and an intelligent battery management system provides more than 40 protections. The battery system is rated IPX7 waterproof. Yadea says the batteries can be charged at temperatures from -15 to 55°C.
Unlike Yadea’s scooters, the Keeness has a motorcycle riding position, which Yadea says is designed to support the rider’s arms and back. It rides on 17-inch tubeless street motorcycle tyres, with an inverted front fork and a mount-type shock absorber for stability at speed and in corners. There is a storage compartment and a USB port. Yadea does not publish the dimensions, seat height or weight on its website, so sit on one at the showroom before you buy, especially if you are shorter than average.
The Keeness comes in one version. Its brakes use a combined braking system (CBS) linking the front and rear, which Yadea says shortens stopping distances and reduces the risk of the nose diving or the tail flicking. Other features include cruise control, Yadea’s EasyGO Bluetooth keyless unlocking, smart app connectivity, a digital meter, an energy-retrieving controller and adaptive power delivery. Black and Grey are the colours reported in the press.
Yadea offers a 24-month or 20,000 km battery pack replacement warranty on the Keeness. That is shorter than the four-year cover on its lithium scooters such as the T5L and Velax. Yadea says it has more than 120 dealerships across Pakistan, including 3S showrooms that handle sales, service and spare parts.
Our view: the Keeness is a niche choice for riders who want real motorcycle performance without petrol, including the ability to keep up with fast traffic at 100 km/h. It costs far more than Yadea’s scooters and most petrol commuter motorcycles, so it is a lifestyle purchase rather than a money-saving one. Check the availability of service and spare parts at your nearest Yadea 3S dealer before committing, because a high-performance machine depends on good after-sales support.
