Battery and motor
The okla OVA is a large, high-powered electric scooter with a 3000W mid-drive motor, priced at Rs. 399,000 for the OVA LFP and Rs. 599,000 for the OVA Lithium. The OVA LFP uses a 72V 45Ah lithium iron phosphate battery and claims 110–120 km of range when ridden at 45 km/h, with a top speed of 80–100 km/h and 60 Nm of rated torque. It uses an 18-MOSFET controller and a 72V 10A charger. The OVA Lithium uses a 72V 40Ah lithium-ion battery, with a top speed of 80 km/h and a claimed range of 85 km. OKLA quotes a charging time of about 5 hours and 17 degrees of gradeability.
Size and practicality
The OVA runs on 16-inch wheels, with 100/80-16 front and 120/80-16 rear tyres on the LFP version, which in our view should make it more stable than OKLA’s 10- and 12-inch scooters. Suspension is telescopic aluminium hydraulic at the front and hydraulic adjustable at the rear. OKLA quotes a load capacity of 150 kg and mentions storage space and a cushioned seat. OKLA says the alloy wheels and suspension give a smooth, stable ride on both smooth and rough surfaces. Dimensions and weight are not published.
Equipment by variant
Both versions share front and rear disc brakes with CBS, alloy wheels, LED lights, a removable battery, a smart display for speed and battery level, and Eco, Ride and Sport riding modes. The LFP version’s spec sheet adds an LCD display with 1-wire or CAN communication. Colours listed are Red, Blue, Black, White, Yellow and Grey. The LFP is listed as ready available, while the Lithium is on booking.
Warranty
Both versions carry a 2-year motor warranty and a 3-year battery warranty, subject to terms and conditions. OKLA’s warranty policy limits motor cover to 24 months or 20,000 km and covers the controller and charger for 12 months or 10,000 km. Water damage and unauthorised repairs are excluded. Claims need the original invoice and warranty booklet, and OKLA inspects every claim before approving it.
Which one to buy
In our opinion, the OVA LFP is the standout model in OKLA’s current line-up. It is Rs. 200,000 cheaper than the OVA Lithium yet claims a bigger battery, a higher top speed and a longer range, and it is available now. The Lithium version is hard to justify unless the dealer can show a clear advantage. Keep in mind that the LFP range figure is measured at a steady 45 km/h, so faster riding will cut it noticeably.
