okla OKG overview and our opinion

Battery and motor

The okla OKG is OKLA’s motorcycle-style electric bike, priced at Rs. 449,000 for the OKG LFP and Rs. 549,000 for the OKG Lithium. The OKG LFP uses a 2000W hub motor and a 72V 30Ah LFP battery, with a top speed of 65 km/h and a claimed 70–80 km range. Its controller is an 18-MOSFET unit with CAN communication. The OKG Lithium uses a 4000W mid motor and two 74V 28Ah lithium-ion batteries, with a top speed of 80 km/h and a certified range of 60 km. OKLA says the Lithium charges in about 3 hours and reaches 80 km/h in 5 seconds, and quotes 17 degrees of hill-climbing ability.

Size and practicality

OKLA describes the OKG as a full-size electric motorcycle rather than a scooter, and the LFP version runs on 17-inch wheels: 3.0-17 at the front and 100/80-17 at the rear. OKLA quotes a weight of about 114 kg without the battery and a maximum load of 180 kg. Extra storage space is mentioned, but seat height and overall dimensions are not published.

Equipment by variant

Both versions have bright LED headlights and a digital display with real-time information. The OKG LFP spec sheet lists front and rear disc brakes with CBS. The Lithium version’s batteries are replaceable for quick swaps, but its brake set-up is not listed. Colours shown on the OKG page are Blue, Black, Army Green, Grey and Green. A customised police edition with flashers, a side box, guards and a PA system is also listed at Rs. 819,000, but it is a special-order product rather than a normal retail variant.

Warranty

Both versions carry a 3-year battery warranty and a 2-year motor warranty, subject to terms and conditions. Under OKLA’s general policy the motor cover is limited to 24 months or 20,000 km, and the controller and charger to 12 months or 10,000 km. Damage from racing, overloading and collisions is excluded.

Which one to buy

In our opinion, the OKG LFP is the better value for most riders. At Rs. 449,000 it has disc brakes front and rear with CBS, a longer claimed range than the Lithium version and the safer LFP chemistry. Choose the OKG Lithium only if you need the extra speed and acceleration of the 4000W mid motor and can live with the shorter quoted range of 60 km. Test both, because the riding feel of a hub motor and a mid motor can be quite different.
