The Super Bike uses a multi-mode motor rated at 500 to 800 watts, with Normal and Sport modes, and Metro quotes a top speed of 35 to 40 km/h. In our view, that is enough for residential streets but slow for busy main roads. The battery is a 48V 27Ah Nano Carbon Fiber (graphene-based) pack with a claimed range of up to 80 km. Charging takes 6 to 7 hours and uses about 1.5 units of electricity, and the battery is rated for up to 1,000 cycles. As with all Metro models, the range figure comes from controlled testing and will drop with a heavier rider or in hot weather.
The Super Bike is 1,570 mm long, 690 mm wide and 1,060 mm tall, with 110 mm of ground clearance and a load capacity of 125 kg. It uses 2.75-10 4-ply tubeless tyres on iron alloy rims. Our opinion: it sits between the tiny Wonder Bike and Metro’s full-size scooters, and its compact size makes it easy to park and manoeuvre, but the low ground clearance calls for care over speed breakers and broken roads.
There is one version. It has a front disc and rear drum brake, cruise control, a side-stand sensor, iron alloy rims and tubeless tyres. Metro does not list a reverse mode, anti-theft alarm or digital meter for this model. Colours are Black and Grey.
Metro quotes about 1.5 units of electricity per full charge. At the Rs 30 per unit rate used as the default in Metro’s own savings calculator, that works out to roughly Rs 45 per full charge (our estimate). Actual cost depends on your tariff slab and charging habits, and peak-hour or commercial rates will be higher.
The specification table lists a 24-month warranty on the motor and battery. One section of the same page mentions an 18-month warranty, so confirm the terms with your dealer before buying.
Our view: at Rs 144,000 the Super Bike is a sensible choice for a single rider who travels short to medium distances in town and wants to spend as little as possible. It is a clear step up from the Wonder Bike, with a front disc brake, cruise control, a bigger battery and a higher load rating. However, the T9 Sport NCF costs Rs 40,000 more and brings a 50 km/h top speed, 110 km of claimed range, a 160 kg load rating and a reverse mode, which in our view makes it the better buy for most adults who can afford it. Choose the Super Bike if budget is the deciding factor.
