Metro Metrix overview and our opinion

Battery and motor

The Metrix has Metro’s second most powerful motor, a multi-mode unit rated at 2,000 to 3,800 watts with Eco, Normal and Sport modes. Metro quotes a top speed of 65 km/h for both versions. The NCF version uses a 72V 38Ah Nano Carbon Fiber (graphene) battery with a claimed range of up to 115 km, 6 to 7 hours of charging, about 3 units of electricity per charge and 1,000 cycles. The LFP version has a larger 76.8V 45Ah lithium iron phosphate battery, which Metro rates at 3,456 Wh, with a claimed range of up to 150 km, 4 to 5 hours of charging, about 3.8 units per charge and up to 1,100 cycles.

Size and practicality

The Metrix is 1,910 mm long, 720 mm wide and 1,210 mm tall, making it the tallest of Metro’s two-wheel scooters. Ground clearance is a healthy 163 mm and load capacity is 160 kg. It rides on 12-inch tubeless tyres with aluminium alloy rims and has under-seat storage. Our opinion: the size, clearance and power make it the most capable everyday Metro for riders who cover longer distances or regularly carry a passenger.

Equipment by variant

Both versions get front and rear disc brakes, smart LED lighting, a digital meter, cruise control, NFC, a reverse drive option, a side-stand sensor and an anti-theft alarm. Metro lists no equipment differences between the versions other than the battery. Colours are Black, Silver and Orange.

Running costs

Metro quotes about 3 units of electricity per full charge for the NCF version and 3.8 units for the LFP version. At the Rs 30 per unit rate used as the default in Metro’s own savings calculator, that works out to roughly Rs 90 per full charge for NCF and Rs 114 for LFP (our estimate). Actual cost depends on your tariff slab and charging habits, and peak-hour or commercial rates will be higher.

Warranty

The battery is covered for 24 months on the NCF version and 36 months on the LFP version. The motor warranty is 24 months.

Which variant to buy

Our view: the NCF version at Rs 229,000 is the standout value in Metro’s range. It costs the same as the M6 Empower NCF yet adds about 10 km/h of top speed, cruise control and NFC. The LFP version is Rs 106,000 more expensive; its 35 km of extra claimed range, faster charging and longer battery warranty suit heavy daily users, but most city riders will be well served by the NCF version. The Rs 229,000 price is an offer; the regular price is Rs 250,000, and Metro lists the offer as ending on 10 November 2026, so check the price at the time of booking.
