The M6 Empower uses a multi-mode hub motor rated at 1,490 to 2,500 watts, with Eco, Normal and Sport modes. Metro quotes a top speed of 50 to 55 km/h. Three battery choices are offered. The NCF version has a 72V 38Ah Nano Carbon Fiber (graphene) battery rated for up to 1,000 charging cycles; it takes 6 to 7 hours to charge and uses about 3 units of electricity per full charge. The two LFP versions use lithium iron phosphate: a removable (portable) 73.6V 30Ah pack or a fixed 76.8V 30Ah pack. Both are rated for up to 1,100 cycles, charge in 4 to 5 hours and use about 2.5 units per charge. Metro claims up to 125 km per charge for every version, measured under controlled conditions, so real-world range will be lower with a heavy rider, hot weather or hard riding.
The scooter measures 1,820 mm long, 750 mm wide and 1,120 mm tall, with 145 mm of ground clearance, and Metro rates it to carry up to 160 kg. It rolls on 12-inch tubeless tyres, which in our opinion should handle broken roads better than the 10-inch wheels on cheaper scooters. The portable LFP pack can be carried indoors for charging, a real advantage for people living in flats without a socket near their parking.
All versions get front and rear disc brakes, an aluminium alloy front rim, smart LED lighting with automatic headlight control, a digital meter with energy monitoring, a reverse drive option, a side-stand sensor, traction control and an anti-theft alarm. The only difference Metro lists is the battery: the Portable LFP version has a removable pack, while the Non-Portable LFP pack is fixed in the frame. Colours are Black and Silver.
The NCF version carries a 24-month battery and motor warranty. Both LFP versions get 36 months on the battery and motor. Metro advises buyers to confirm final specifications with an authorised dealer at the time of purchase.
Our view: the NCF version at Rs 229,000 is the value pick if you can charge overnight at home, since it has the same claimed range and brakes as the others. The Portable LFP at Rs 274,000 is worth the extra Rs 45,000 if you need to carry the battery indoors or want the longer 36-month cover and faster charging. The Non-Portable LFP costs Rs 21,000 more than the portable one for the same claimed range, so we see little reason to choose it unless the portable version is out of stock. Note that the lower NCF and Portable LFP prices are introductory offers that Metro says end on 10 November 2026.
