Motor and battery

The JE-100G Fox has a 1500 watt motor and a 60V 26Ah battery. Jolta quotes a top speed of 60 km/h and a range of 60 to 70 km per charge, with a charging time of 6 to 8 hours. The official page does not say which battery chemistry is used. On paper the Fox has the same motor, top speed and range as the cheaper JE-70G Wolf, but a smaller battery and a longer charging time, so it is worth asking the dealer to explain the difference in person before you decide.

Size and practicality

Jolta has not published dimensions, weight, seat height or ground clearance for the Fox, and its website does not explain how the Fox’s body differs from the Wolf’s. It is a motorcycle-style electric bike, so riders coming from a 70cc petrol bike should find the riding position familiar. Cruise control and a reverse gear are fitted, which help on long straight roads and in tight parking. A 6 to 8 hour charging time means overnight charging at home will be the normal routine.

Equipment

There is a single variant with front and rear drum brakes, cruise control and reverse gear. Jolta’s own spec list says the Fox does not have a digital speedometer, and USB charging, alloy wheels and NFC are not listed. The bike appears on Jolta’s website under two names: the menu, product heading and online shop call it the JE-100G Fox, while the web address and page title use Flux. You may see either name at dealers and on price-comparison websites, but they refer to the same model.

Warranty

Jolta lists a 20 month warranty for the Fox. Ask the dealer whether the battery has the same cover, as the page does not say, and keep the warranty card and charger receipt safe.

Which variant to buy

The Fox costs Rs 185,900 in a single version. Our opinion: based only on the published specifications, it is hard to recommend over the JE-70G Wolf, which costs Rs 15,000 less and lists a bigger 36Ah battery with faster 5 to 6 hour charging. The Fox may still suit you if you prefer its styling after seeing both bikes at a showroom. If you want better range and quicker charging, the JE-70L Fury at Rs 239,900 is the logical step up, with a lithium battery, 70 to 80 km of range, 3 to 4 hour charging and a 24 month warranty.
