Both Neo versions use a 1000 watt motor with a quoted top speed of 50 km/h. The Neo has a 60V 26Ah graphene battery with a claimed range of 60 to 70 km. The Neo Pro moves to a bigger battery, listed as 60V 38Ah in the page summary and 60V 36Ah in the spec table, and Jolta quotes 80 to 90 km per charge. Jolta lists a 6 to 8 hour charging time for both versions, so the Pro’s extra range does not come with a longer charge on paper.
Jolta has not published dimensions, weight, seat height or storage space for the Neo or Neo Pro. Both have cruise control and a reverse gear, which make manoeuvring in narrow streets and tight parking easier. Jolta’s feature list for the Neo also mentions a low wind resistant body, aluminium alloy rims, rolling-resistant tyres and a side stand sensor. With 6 to 8 hours of charging, both are designed to be charged overnight at home.
Both versions have front and rear disc brakes, cruise control, reverse gear, a USB port and a digital speedometer, so the main difference between them is the battery and range. The Neo page also lists a multi-mode motor and a traction control system; the Neo Pro page does not include that general feature list, so confirm those items at the showroom. Jolta’s website does not list colours for either version. Both run the same 1000W motor, so the published top speed is the same 50 km/h for both.
Jolta lists a 20 month warranty for both the Neo and the Neo Pro. Ask the dealer whether the graphene battery has the same cover. The 20 month term is four months shorter than the 24 months Jolta gives its lithium-battery motorcycles. Jolta’s website also promotes doorstep after-sales service and genuine spare parts, so ask your nearest dealer how service visits are arranged in your city.
The Neo costs Rs 179,900 and the Neo Pro Rs 189,900. Our opinion: the Neo Pro is the one to buy, because Rs 10,000 extra brings about 20 km more claimed range with the same charging time and the same equipment. The standard Neo suits riders with short daily trips who want a stronger motor than the Storm. Compared with the Storm Pro at Rs 182,900, the Neo Pro costs Rs 7,000 more but lists a 1000W motor instead of 800W with similar range, which we think is worth paying for on hilly roads or with a passenger.
