The Zeno and Zeno Pro share a 1200 watt motor and a quoted top speed of 50 km/h. Unlike the Storm and Neo, which use 60V batteries, both Zenos run on a 72V graphene battery. The Zeno has a 72V 26Ah pack with a claimed range of 60 to 70 km and a charging time of 6 to 8 hours. The Zeno Pro has a 72V 38Ah pack, raising the quoted range to 80 to 90 km, and takes 7 to 9 hours to charge. The higher voltage and motor power do not change the published top speed, which stays at 50 km/h.
Jolta has not published dimensions, weight, seat height or storage space for the Zeno range. Both versions have cruise control and a reverse gear, which help with long straight roads and tight parking. Jolta’s feature list for the Zeno also mentions a low wind resistant body, aluminium alloy rims, rolling-resistant tyres and a side stand sensor. Charging takes most of a night on both versions, so home charging access is important.
Both versions come with front and rear disc brakes, cruise control, reverse gear, a USB port and a digital speedometer. The Zeno page additionally lists a multi-mode motor and a traction control system in its general feature list; the Zeno Pro page does not include that list, so confirm these items with the dealer. The main difference between the two is therefore battery size, range and charging time. Colours are not listed on Jolta’s website.
Jolta lists a 20 month warranty for both the Zeno and the Zeno Pro. Ask whether the battery is covered for the full period. The 20 month term is four months shorter than the 24 months Jolta gives its lithium-battery motorcycles. Jolta’s website also promotes doorstep after-sales service and genuine spare parts, so ask your nearest dealer how service visits are arranged in your city.
The Zeno costs Rs 205,900 and the Zeno Pro Rs 221,900. Our opinion: if you choose a Zeno, the Pro is the better buy, because Rs 16,000 extra adds about 20 km of claimed range. However, the Neo Pro at Rs 189,900 claims the same 80 to 90 km range and the same 50 km/h top speed for Rs 32,000 less than the Zeno Pro. The Zeno’s stronger 1200W motor may help with a passenger or on slopes, but we suggest test riding both before paying the extra.
