The Inverex Volterra is the lowest-priced motorcycle family in the Inverex GO range and, according to launch coverage, the one with retro-inspired styling. It uses the same three powertrains as the Charlie and Roar. The Volterra Lite has a 1,500 W hub motor and a 60V 30Ah lithium iron phosphate battery for a claimed 100 km and 60 km/h. The Volterra Pro gets 2,000 W and a 72V 40Ah battery for a claimed 130 km and 70 km/h. The Volterra Swap pairs a 3,000 W motor with a 72V 54Ah swappable battery, claiming 150 km, 90 km/h and a 30-second battery exchange at a swapping station. All ranges are quoted under optimal riding conditions.
The Lite charges in 2–3 hours at 10A, while the Pro takes 2–3 hours with 15A fast charging. Both have an onboard charger and a battery that can be removed to charge indoors. The LFP cells are rated for 2,000 cycles and a 15-year life, and both the battery and motor carry an IP65 rating.
The Volterra measures 1,950 × 775 × 1,090 mm, making it the widest of the Inverex motorcycles, with a 1,300 mm wheelbase. Seat height is 750 mm and ground clearance is 240 mm. Tyres are 2.75-18 at the front and 110/90-16 at the rear, with hydraulic front suspension, twin rear shocks and a steel frame. In our view, the combination of a moderate seat height and high ground clearance makes it a sensible all-rounder for mixed city and suburban roads.
Every Volterra has front and rear hydraulic disc brakes, a digital display, LED headlamp, running lights, three speed modes (Eco, Normal and Sports), a reverse mode and a field-oriented controller. Variants differ in motor, battery, range and top speed. Optional extras include an anti-theft device, a portable power storage unit, a Bluetooth speaker with artificial ignition sound and an NFC smart card.
Inverex lists a three-year battery warranty for the Lite (T&C apply) and a three-year or 60,000 km battery warranty, whichever comes first, for the Pro. The Swap page does not list a warranty.
The Volterra Lite is Rs 389,000 and the Volterra Swap Rs 299,000, excluding delivery, while the Pro’s price is still shown as to be announced on the official site. In our opinion, the Lite is the safest buy today: it is the cheapest Inverex motorcycle with a battery you can take indoors and charge at home, plus a published warranty. The Swap’s lower price is tempting, but check with Inverex whether the battery is included and what swapping costs before you commit. Buyers who want more range should wait for the Pro’s confirmed price.
