Inverex Jesper overview and our opinion

Motor and battery

The Jesper is the most expensive and best-equipped electric scooter in the Inverex GO range. It uses a 2,000 W permanent magnet hub motor and a 73V 30Ah lithium iron phosphate battery. Inverex claims a range of 85–100 km under optimal riding conditions and a top speed of 65 km/h, with three riding modes (Eco, Normal and Sports) and a reverse mode. The battery is rated for 2,500 cycles and a 15-year lifespan, and both battery and motor are IP67 rated against dust and water.

Charging

Charging takes 5–6 hours on a supply of up to 10A. The Jesper has an onboard charger, and the battery is portable, so it can be taken out and charged indoors. That is slower than the Pro versions of Inverex’s motorcycles, so in our view the Jesper is best for riders who can charge overnight at home.

Size and practicality

Inverex lists the Jesper at 1,930 mm long and 1,180 mm tall with a 1,330 mm wheelbase and 125 mm of ground clearance. It runs on 12-inch wheels with a 110/70-12 front tyre and a wider 120/70-12 rear, along with hydraulic front suspension and twin rear shocks. The official seat height is 810 mm, which is high for a scooter, and the listed width of 510 mm looks unusually narrow, so we suggest checking both in the showroom. The faux leather seat is 810 mm long.

Equipment

The Jesper comes in a single version. Standard equipment includes front and rear hydraulic disc brakes, a traction control system, cruise control, an NFC smart card for keyless access, a digital display with trip meter, LED headlamp, running lights and a field-oriented controller. Optional extras are an anti-theft device, a portable power storage unit for extra range, a Bluetooth speaker with artificial ignition sound and a large footrest.

Warranty

Inverex offers a three-year battery warranty on the Jesper, subject to terms and conditions.

Should you buy it?

At Rs 355,000 excluding delivery, the Jesper costs Rs 20,000 more than the Rogue and Rs 70,000 more than the Vexa, which share the same motor power, claimed range and top speed. On paper, the extra money mainly buys traction control, along with running lights and wider tyres. In our opinion that makes it worth considering for riders who often deal with wet or broken roads, while buyers focused on value will find the Vexa offers a very similar experience for much less.
