Inverex Fire Bird overview and our opinion

Motor and battery

The Fire Bird is the flagship electric motorcycle in the Inverex GO line-up and the fastest two-wheeler Inverex sells, with a claimed top speed of 95 km/h. Both versions use a hub motor rated at 3,000 W with 6,000 W peak output. What sets it apart is the battery: Inverex says it uses a semi-solid-state lithium pack, a chemistry the company claims it is first to bring to Pakistan’s electric motorcycle market. The Fire Bird Lite carries one 73V 30Ah battery for a claimed 100 km, while the Fire Bird Pro has two of them for a claimed 200 km, the longest range of any Inverex two-wheeler. Ranges are quoted for optimal riding conditions.

Charging and durability

With 15A fast charging, the Lite takes about 2 hours and the Pro about 3 hours. There is an onboard charger, and the battery can be removed to charge indoors. Inverex rates the cells for 2,500 cycles and a 15-year lifespan, and both battery and motor are IP67 rated against dust and water, a step up from the IP65 rating of the Charlie, Roar and Volterra.

Size and practicality

The Fire Bird measures 1,930 × 710 × 1,120 mm with a 1,320 mm wheelbase. Its listed 800 mm seat height is the tallest of Inverex’s motorcycles and ground clearance is 135 mm, so shorter riders should try one before buying. It uses a 17-inch front (3.00-17) and 16-inch rear (110/90-16) tyre, hydraulic front suspension, twin rear shocks and a steel frame. In our view, the lower ground clearance means it is better suited to paved city roads and highways than to rough village tracks.

Equipment by variant

Both versions share front and rear hydraulic disc brakes, a traction control system, a digital display with trip meter, LED headlamp, two riding modes (Eco and Sports), reverse mode and a field-oriented controller. The only listed difference is the second battery on the Pro, which doubles the claimed range and adds about an hour to charging. Optional extras include an anti-theft device, a portable power storage unit, a Bluetooth speaker with artificial ignition sound, an NFC smart card and a large footrest.

Warranty

Inverex gives both Fire Bird versions a three-year battery warranty, subject to terms and conditions.

Which variant to buy

The Fire Bird Lite costs Rs 485,000 and the Pro Rs 595,000, excluding delivery. For riders who cover long daily distances or travel between cities, we think the Pro’s 200 km claimed range justifies the Rs 110,000 premium. If your daily riding is well within 100 km, the Lite gives you the same motor, top speed and features for less money, and in our opinion it is the better buy for city use.
