The Ezee XL uses an 800-1000W multi-mode brushless motor and a 73.6V 40Ah (3kWh) lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. Crown quotes a top speed of 28-32 km/h and a range of 55-65 km in eco mode. Charging takes about 4 to 5 hours with the 72V 10A charger. Three speed modes are provided for better control.
The XL is heavier and more load-focused than the standard Ezee, with a net weight of 120 kg and a rated load capacity of 150 kg. Storage is its strength: an integrated front basket with a secure lid that keeps items safe from dust and light rain, a strong rear carrier with a metal guard for parcels and goods, and under-seat storage for a helmet or small items. It rides on 3.00-10 tyres with alloy wheels and a high-performance front suspension, and a deep mudguard and side reflectors are fitted. An integrated parking handbrake with an ergonomic grip holds it securely, including on inclines.
There is one version. It has a drum brake at the front and a rear CBM brake according to the specification table, side-view mirrors, a clear digital display showing speed and battery level, a remote alarm anti-theft system and three speed modes. NFC unlock is not fitted. Colours are white, red, grey, blue and black.
The LFP battery is covered for 4 years or 48,000 km, the motor and controller for 3 years or 36,000 km, and body parts for 1 year or 12,000 km.
Charging uses an ordinary home socket and takes 4 to 5 hours. Crown highlights low maintenance costs and zero emissions, which matter for business owners running it every day. Installment plans are available through Crown’s partner banks and platforms, which can help small businesses spread the cost. As with all of Crown’s electric vehicles, registration is required, and the dealer can help with this at the time of purchase.
In our opinion, the Ezee XL makes most sense for small businesses and households that need to carry goods or regular shopping at low speed, such as shop deliveries or market runs within a neighbourhood. Its storage, parking brake and bigger battery justify the higher price over the Ezee for those uses. For a single rider making short personal trips, the cheaper Ezee is the better value, as it also adds NFC unlock, a front disc brake and reverse mode. As with the Ezee, the low top speed limits it to local roads.
