The Cherry uses a 3000W brushless motor and a 72V 40Ah lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. Crown quotes a top speed of 75-80 km/h and a range of 110-130 km, one of the highest in the series. Charging takes 4 to 5 hours with the 72V 8A charger, or around 5 hours from a home socket according to the FAQ. There are four speed modes, and Crown says the motor has enough torque for moderate inclines. The company claims the battery can last more than 10 years with careful use.
The Cherry weighs 164 kg and has a rated load capacity of 200 kg, and Crown says it seats two adults comfortably. It has telescopic shocks, a sleek grab rail for the passenger and a USB port for charging a phone. Crown also says it can be used for delivery and fleet work. Dimensions and tyre sizes are not published on the official page.
There is one version. It combines a front and rear combined braking system (CBS) with high-performance disc brakes, high-intensity LED lighting, an LED tail light cluster with integrated brake lights and turn indicators, a digital speedometer with battery and trip information, NFC unlock and a remote alarm system. The design takes its cue from classic Vespa-style scooters, with chrome detailing and a contoured front. Colours are red, white, black, silver and blue.
Crown covers the LFP battery for 4 years or 48,000 km, the motor and controller for 3 years or 36,000 km on a repairable basis, and body parts for 1 year or 12,000 km. Like the Markhor, the Cherry is available on booking only, with 100% of the price paid in advance directly to Crown and a tentative waiting time of two months.
Charging uses a normal home socket, with no special equipment needed. Crown says the Cherry can also be used for delivery and fleet work, and its 200 kg load rating supports that. As it is sold on booking directly through Crown, keep written confirmation of your payment and expected delivery date.
In our opinion, the Cherry is for buyers who want classic scooter looks without giving up speed or range. It is much faster than the similarly styled Victory and has a longer claimed range than most of Crown’s line-up, but it costs Rs 115,000 more than the Victory and is heavy. The booking terms are the main drawback: paying the full amount up front and waiting about two months is a big commitment, so make sure you are comfortable with that and have test-ridden one before booking.
