Engine and gearbox

The 150cc Loader is Tez Raftar’s smaller motorcycle cargo loader. Its 150cc single-cylinder, four-stroke engine is air-cooled with a cooling fan, and Pak Star rates it at 8.2 kW (about 11 hp) at 8,000 rpm and 10 Nm at 7,500 rpm. Unusually for this class, it has six gear positions: five forward speeds plus reverse. Starting is electric or by kick, and the clutch is a seven-plate wet type. The compression ratio is 9.2:1 and oil capacity is up to 1,400 ml.

Fuel and running costs

It runs on petrol from a 22-litre tank. Pak Star claims 20 km per litre, the same figure it gives for the 200cc Loader, so in theory a full tank would cover about 440 km. There is no CNG option listed for the loaders.

Size and practicality

The loader is 3,510 mm long, 1,340 mm wide and 1,535 mm tall, with a 2,360 mm wheelbase and a 1,140 mm wheel track. It weighs 430 kg empty and, on paper, carries the same 800 kg as the 200cc model. The cargo tray is 2,060 x 1,321 x 500 mm. Its 6,700 mm turning circle is much tighter than the 200cc Loader’s, which is useful in crowded bazaars, and gradeability is rated at 22 to 23 percent. The frame is fabricated from rectangular steel pipe.

Brakes, suspension and tyres

Up front are two heavy-duty shock absorbers with two spring cushions, and at the rear two leaf springs with two spring cushions. Brakes are a mechanical front drum and a hydraulic rear drum. It uses 5.00-12 tube-type tyres with a 12-ply rating. The battery is a small 12 V 9 Ah unit.

Versions and price

Pak Star lists two trolley types, Regular and Hercules, with identical published specifications. The third-party list from around 2024 shows the Basic 150cc at Rs 230,000 and the Hercules with front covers at Rs 240,000. We have matched Basic to the Regular trolley, but confirm this with the dealer. Warranty and colours are not published online.

Which version to buy

Our opinion: the Regular is the better value if you just need a dependable cargo carrier, since both share the same engine and rated load. The Hercules adds front covers for Rs 10,000 more on the third-party list, which may be worth it if you want more weather protection. If you regularly carry heavy loads on hilly or long routes, the extra power of the 200cc Loader is worth considering.
