The XPeng X9 is a full-size, seven-seat electric MPV. Pakistan gets a single version, the Long Range 2WD Pro+. It uses a 101.5 kWh NMC battery and a single front motor producing 235 kW (315 hp) and 450 Nm. XPeng’s specification sheet quotes 0–100 km/h in 7.7 seconds, a 200 km/h top speed and a WLTP range of 590 km, with energy use of 20.4 kWh per 100 km.
The X9 accepts up to 317 kW of DC power, with a 10–80% charge quoted at about 20 minutes on a suitable charger. The 11 kW onboard AC charger needs roughly 11 hours for a full charge, so a wall charger at home is close to essential. A 3.3 kW vehicle-to-load function can run external appliances.
At 5,293 mm long, 1,988 mm wide and 1,785 mm tall on a 3,160 mm wheelbase, the X9 is one of the largest passenger vehicles officially sold in Pakistan. Seating is 2-2-3, with two powered second-row captain chairs and an electrically folding third row. The boot holds 755 litres, rising to 2,554 litres with the third row folded. Active rear-wheel steering helps in tight spaces. PakWheels lists 142 mm of ground clearance and 245/55 R20 tyres, so care is needed over tall speed breakers.
Equipment includes a 17.3-inch central screen, a 10.25-inch driver display and a 21.4-inch rear entertainment screen, a 23-speaker 2,180W sound system, five-zone climate control with wrap-around air conditioning, a hot and cold refrigerator, powered sliding doors, a panoramic roof, Nappa leather, heated and ventilated seats with massage, and dual-chamber air suspension. Six airbags are standard, including curtain airbags that cover all three rows, together with adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, a 360-degree camera and automated parking.
PakWheels lists an 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty. The brochure linked from the official site gives conflicting vehicle-warranty figures, so confirm the terms with the dealer before buying.
With only the Long Range 2WD Pro+ on sale, there is no variant choice to make. Our opinion: the X9 makes most sense for large families or chauffeur-driven owners who can charge at home and have room to park a 5.3-metre vehicle. Buyers who often travel long distances away from fast chargers should plan their routes carefully, and anyone comparing it with a hybrid MPV should weigh lower running costs against charging convenience.
