The XPeng L03 is offered in Pakistan in two versions. The L03 BEV Long Range is fully electric and uses a 69 kWh battery with a claimed 525 km WLTP range. The L03 REEV Standard pairs a smaller 37.2 kWh battery with a 1,499cc petrol engine that only acts as a generator; the wheels are always driven by the electric motor. It is rated at 240 km of electric-only range and about 1,100 km in total (WLTP). Both versions use a single rear motor rated at 183 kW (about 245 hp) and 280 Nm, with Energy Saving, Comfort and Sport modes. The BEV is quoted at 6.6 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and the REEV at 6.8 seconds.
The BEV accepts up to 236 kW DC and 11 kW AC, and is quoted at about 20 minutes for a 10–80% charge. The REEV accepts up to 123 kW DC and 6.6 kW AC, with 10–80% quoted at about 15 minutes. Both can power external appliances through a 6 kW vehicle-to-load function.
The L03 is 4,650 mm long, 1,920 mm wide and 1,600 mm tall, on a 2,850 mm wheelbase, with 165 mm of ground clearance and 225/60 R18 tyres. The rear boot holds 539 litres, the rear seats split 40:20:40 and the tailgate is powered. The BEV adds a 102-litre front trunk; in the REEV that space holds the range-extender hardware.
Both variants are listed with the same core equipment: a 15.6-inch central screen, an 8.8-inch driver display, a 26.8-inch head-up display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 50W wireless charging, leather seats, heated, ventilated and massaging front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear vents, a panoramic glass roof and 256-colour ambient lighting. Safety equipment includes seven airbags, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a 360-degree camera and automated parking. A 20-speaker sound system is listed as optional.
Launch coverage lists a 5-year or 120,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty on the battery and motor, whichever comes first.
Our opinion: the BEV Long Range is the better choice if you can charge at home or at work. It costs Rs 700,000 more, but it has more than double the electric range, much faster charging and a front trunk. The REEV Standard makes more sense if you often drive between cities where fast chargers are hard to find, because the petrol generator removes range worries.
