The Revo range has five versions: G MT, G AT, V AT, Rocco and GR-S, all sold as 2.8-litre diesels. Toyota publishes figures for the Rocco and GR-S. The Rocco uses the 2,755 cc 1GD-FTV common-rail diesel, making 150 kW, or about 201 hp, at 3,000 to 3,400 rpm and 500 Nm from 1,600 to 2,800 rpm, with a 6-speed sequential gearbox. The GR-S gets the same quoted output and paddle shifters. The G MT has a manual gearbox, while the G AT and V AT are automatics.
The Revo is a body-on-frame double-cab pickup. The Rocco and GR-S have proper 4×4 hardware with a part-time 4WD selector offering 2WD, 4WD and 4WD Low, plus a rear differential lock, limited-slip differential, active traction control, downhill assist, hill-start assist and trailer sway control. Toyota’s page does not give dimensions, ground clearance or load-bed sizes.
The Rocco adds a sporty look with a black trapezoidal grille, sports bar, 18-inch machine-cut alloys and smart LED headlamps. Inside it has an 8-way power driver’s seat, a 9-inch tablet-style audio screen, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control and drive modes. Safety includes front and driver’s knee airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, stability control, ISOFIX, clearance sonar and an alarm.
The GR-S sits at the top with all-black 18-inch alloys, red GR brake calipers, monotube shock absorbers, over-fender mouldings, leather seats with red stitching, 8-way power front seats, push-button start, a 9-inch display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a panoramic view monitor. Toyota’s page does not list the equipment of the G and V versions. The G MT is the cheapest way into a Revo at Rs 12,329,000, and the automatic G AT adds Rs 610,000. The V AT costs Rs 1,340,000 more than the G AT, so ask a dealer what it adds before paying the difference.
Toyota Pakistan’s warranty is 3 years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first. The buyer’s guide lists a Rs 4,000,000 booking payment for the Hilux Revo.
In our opinion, the G AT is the sensible choice for buyers who want an automatic Revo for mixed work and family use without paying for styling extras. The Rocco makes sense if you want the full off-road kit and comfort features, and the GR-S adds Rs 970,000 mainly for looks, suspension and the 360-degree camera.
