Toyota Camry overview and our opinion

Engine and battery

The Camry uses a 2.5-litre petrol engine working with Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive, which combines the torque of the engine and the electric motor. Toyota Pakistan describes the gearbox as a 6-speed automatic with sequential shift, and lists Eco, Sport and Normal driving modes as well as an EV mode for short, quiet electric running. Toyota does not quote engine power, motor output or battery size on its Pakistani page.

Size and practicality

This is a full-size executive sedan, and Toyota highlights an enlarged boot. The car rides on 18-inch alloy wheels. Exact dimensions are not listed in the page text; they sit in a separate brochure and specification sheet.

Equipment

Only one version is sold, the High Grade, so the equipment list is generous. Safety kit includes six SRS airbags, vehicle stability control, hill-start assist control and an impact-absorbing body structure. Outside, it gets Bi-Beam LED headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, LED rear lamps and a panoramic glass roof.

Inside, Toyota lists dual-zone automatic climate control with nanoe air technology, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with cruise control, audio and driver-support buttons, a 7-inch multi-information display, an 8-inch multimedia system and Smart Entry and Start, which allows keyless entry and push-button starting.

Price and import costs

The Camry is imported as a completely built-up car. Its price rose from Rs 33 million to Rs 43.8 million in July 2026, when Toyota passed on the Special Excise Duty from the 2026-27 federal budget. Toyota’s prices for imported models include 25% sales tax but exclude withholding tax, and its buyer’s guide asks for a booking payment of 25% of the price or Rs 1,000,000, whichever is higher. At Rs 43,800,000, the Camry costs about six times as much as the cheapest Corolla Cross, and buyers should also budget for withholding tax, freight and insurance on top of the ex-factory price.

Warranty

Toyota Pakistan says all its locally assembled and imported vehicles carry a warranty of 3 years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first.

Which variant to buy

There is only one version, so the real question is whether the Camry is worth it at this price. In our opinion, it suits buyers who want a quiet, efficient executive sedan with official Toyota backing, but the July 2026 price rise of more than Rs 10 million makes it hard to recommend on value alone. Compare it carefully with other imported hybrid and electric sedans before you book.
