Haval Jolion overview and our opinion

Engine and gearbox

The Haval Jolion is sold in Pakistan in two versions. The Jolion 1.5T has a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine rated at 150 hp and 220 Nm. It drives the front wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The Jolion HEV pairs a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT). GWM quotes a combined 190 PS and 375 Nm for the HEV, which is also front-wheel drive. The hybrid does not need to be plugged in, because the engine and braking recharge its battery. That makes it a good fit for buyers who do a lot of stop-start city driving.

Size and practicality

The Jolion is 4,472 mm long, 1,841 mm wide and 1,619 mm tall, on a 2,700 mm wheelbase. That makes it a compact crossover that sits below the Haval H6 in size. It seats five, has a 55-litre fuel tank and rides on 18-inch wheels with 225/55 R18 tyres. Published ground-clearance and boot figures for the Pakistani car differ from source to source. If these figures matter to you, check them in the showroom.

Equipment by variant

Both versions come with six airbags, a panoramic sunroof, rear AC vents, built-in navigation, a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a 360-degree camera. The driver-assistance package includes:

Automatic emergency braking, forward and rear collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist.

The launch specification of the locally assembled HEV also listed keyless entry, push-button start, heated leather seats and a six-way electric driver’s seat. It further listed a wireless charger, automatic LED headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and heated, auto-folding mirrors.

Price and running costs

The Jolion 1.5T costs Rs 7,796,106 ex-factory and the Jolion HEV costs Rs 9,116,216, a gap of about Rs 1.32 million. Withholding tax, CVT, freight and the NEV levy are added on top. The June 2026 price list gives on-the-road totals for a filer of Rs 8,246,470 for the 1.5T and Rs 9,632,850 for the HEV. The hybrid has roughly 40 more horsepower and 155 Nm more torque than the petrol model.

Which variant to buy

Our opinion: the Jolion 1.5T is the better value if you mostly drive on motorways or cover modest distances, because it already carries the full safety and ADAS package. The HEV makes more sense for heavy city users. Over several years they can recover the price gap through lower fuel use, and they also get the stronger performer. Either way, we think the Jolion is one of the best-equipped compact SUVs at its price in Pakistan.
