The GWM ORA 5 is a battery-electric compact crossover that GWM launched in Pakistan in August 2026. A single front-mounted motor produces 150 kW (201 hp) and 260 Nm and drives the front wheels. GWM claims 0 to 100 km/h in about eight seconds. Power comes from a 58.33 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a claimed range of up to 435 km on the WLTP cycle. LFP chemistry is generally regarded as tolerant of hot climates and frequent full charges.
Launch reports say the ORA 5 is longer and wider than hatchbacks such as the Suzuki Swift and Kia Stonic. A large panoramic glass roof makes the cabin feel airy. Official Pakistani dimensions and boot capacity were not published in the sources we could check, so they are not listed here.
The ORA 5 is generously equipped for its price. Driver aids include a 360-degree camera, automatic parking assist, junction assist, intelligent turning control, rear cross-traffic alert and lane departure warning.
Inside are leatherette seats and power-adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation. There is also a digital instrument cluster, a wireless phone charger and electric power steering. Vehicle-to-load (V2L) lets you run appliances or camping equipment from the car’s battery.
Launch coverage quotes a warranty of eight years or 150,000 km, whichever comes first. Ask the dealer whether this covers the whole car or only the battery and drive system.
The ORA 5 costs Rs 8,599,000 ex-factory, and the booking amount is Rs 1.7 million. It comes in a single version, offered in seven colours: Black, Ash Grey, Matte Grey, White, Cyan, Emerald Green and Flamingo Pink.
Our opinion: the ORA 5 is the most sensible GWM electric car for most Pakistani buyers. It costs less than the older ORA 03 yet offers a bigger battery, more range, more power and more space. Launch coverage also places it below rivals such as the BYD Atto 3. Before booking, check the delivery timeline, the charging hardware supplied and the DC fast-charging speed, which we could not confirm for the local model.
