The new BMW iX3 is the first model of BMW’s Neue Klasse generation of electric cars, and Dewan Motors lists the iX3 50 xDrive in Pakistan. BMW’s official Pakistan site quotes 345 kW (469 hp), 0–100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, a top speed of 210 km/h and a WLTP range of 673 to 805 km. It uses sixth-generation 800-volt drive and battery technology. The site says DC charging at up to 400 kW takes the battery from 10% to 80% in 21 minutes and can add 309 to 372 km of range in 10 minutes, while an 11 kW AC charger takes 11 hours for a full charge. BMW’s international data adds a 108.7 kWh battery and 645 Nm of torque.
The official site gives the iX3 50 xDrive’s dimensions as 4,782 mm long, 1,895 mm wide and 1,635 mm tall, with a weight of 2,360 kg. The boot holds up to 1,750 litres with the rear seats folded, and there is another 58 litres of storage under the bonnet for the charging cable. BMW’s international data lists a 2,897 mm wheelbase and five seats.
The cabin introduces BMW Panoramic iDrive, which combines a 17.9-inch central touchscreen with BMW Panoramic Vision, a display that shows information across the full width of the windscreen. A 3D head-up display is optional. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant responds to ‘Hey BMW’. Sensors, cameras and radar feed the driver assistance systems. The navigation can pre-condition the battery on the way to a fast charger and plan charging stops, and the charging flap opens and closes automatically. Automatic door handles and an optional Iconic Glow grille complete the design.
BMW Dewan’s vehicle warranty is 2 years with unlimited mileage. Its published 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty covers fifth-generation BMW electric cars; the iX3 uses sixth-generation technology, so confirm its battery terms with the dealer, although local press reports the same 8-year cover for all BMW EVs.
One version is listed: the iX3 50 xDrive at Rs 30,500,000. In our opinion, this is the standout BMW in Pakistan right now. For Rs 3,120,000 more than an iX2 xDrive30, you get a larger SUV, the newest technology and a much longer claimed range, which reduces range anxiety on long motorway trips.
