The S1 comes with a choice of two batteries, and the motor changes with them. The S1 Graphene uses a 72V 36Ah graphene battery with a 1200-watt motor, while the S1 Lithium has a 76.8V 32Ah Phylion lithium battery and a 1500-watt motor. evee quotes a top speed of 50 to 55 km/h and a range of 70 to 90 km for the model, and charging takes about 7 hours. Both versions have three riding modes: Eco, Normal and Sports. evee’s homepage comparison lists slightly different numbers (50 km/h and 80 km), so treat the figures as estimates.
The S1 is evee’s mainstream full-size commuter. The official website does not publish dimensions, weight, seat height, ground clearance or storage capacity, so we cannot compare its size with rivals using official data. In our opinion, the claimed range is enough for most riders to charge only a few times a week, and the 50 to 55 km/h top speed suits city roads. Reverse gear is a practical touch for parking in tight streets and crowded markets.
Both versions share the same equipment list on evee’s website: an LED headlight, an LED tail light with LED indicators, a daytime running lamp, a front disc brake, a digital instrument cluster, reverse gear and three riding modes. The only published differences between the two versions are the battery type and motor power. evee does not mention USB charging, an anti-theft alarm or regenerative braking for the S1, so check with the dealer if any of these matter to you.
evee’s published warranty for the S1 covers the motor for 24 months, the battery and controller for 20 months, the frame for 36 months and the charger for 3 months. This applies to the model as a whole; the website does not list a separate warranty for the lithium battery. We suggest asking the dealer to confirm the warranty terms in writing when you buy.
In our opinion, the S1 Graphene at Rs 206,000 is the better buy for most people. It has the same equipment, claimed range and warranty as the lithium version, and saves Rs 63,900. The S1 Lithium gets a more powerful 1500-watt motor, which may help riders who often carry a passenger or ride on slopes, but at Rs 269,900 it costs almost as much as the graphene S1 Air, which has a 2200-watt motor, a higher top speed and faster charging.
