Battery and motor

Both versions of the S1 Air use a 2200-watt electric motor, the most powerful in evee’s current range. Buyers can choose between a 72V 38Ah graphene battery and a 76.8V 35Ah Phylion lithium battery. evee claims a top speed of 65 to 70 km/h and a range of 90 to 110 km per charge, with a charging time of 5 hours, which is quicker than the 7 hours or more quoted for other evee models. Three riding modes are offered: Eco, Normal and Sports. Some other evee pages quote different figures, so treat speed and range as estimates.

Size and practicality

evee presents the S1 Air as an upgraded version of the S1, aimed at riders who want more performance. It does not publish dimensions, weight, seat height or storage capacity, so official size comparisons are not possible. In our opinion, the higher top speed makes the S1 Air the most suitable evee for longer cross-city commutes and faster main roads, and the long claimed range means many riders will only need to charge two or three times a week. The shorter charging time is also useful for people who cannot leave a scooter plugged in overnight.

Equipment by variant

evee lists the same equipment for both versions: an LED headlight, an LED tail light with LED indicators, a front disc brake, a digital instrument cluster and three riding modes. The official page shows black and orange colours. Unlike the S1, the S1 Air page does not mention reverse gear or a daytime running lamp, so check these at the dealership if they matter to you. The only published difference between the two versions is the battery chemistry and capacity.

Warranty

evee’s published warranty for the S1 Air covers the motor for 24 months, the battery and controller for 20 months, the frame for 36 months and the charger for 3 months. The same terms are listed for both battery types.

Which variant to buy

In our opinion, the S1 Air Graphene at Rs 275,000 is the better choice for most buyers. It has the same motor, claimed performance, equipment and warranty as the lithium version, and costs Rs 44,900 less. The S1 Air Lithium may appeal to riders who prefer lithium chemistry, but evee does not publish any extra range or warranty to justify the higher price. If the S1 Air is beyond your budget, the Rs 239,000 Sqube offers a 2000-watt motor and a 65 km/h claimed top speed.
