The Benelli 180S is powered by a 175.3cc single-cylinder, four-stroke engine with four valves, a single overhead camshaft, fuel injection and liquid cooling, which is rare in this class in Pakistan. Benelli quotes 13.3 kW (about 17.8 hp) at 9,500 rpm and 14 Nm at 7,000 rpm, with an 11.0:1 compression ratio. It has a six-speed gearbox, a wet multi-plate clutch and chain drive. Starting is electric only; the official specification does not list a kick starter. Benelli’s quoted top speed is 110 km/h.
The 180S measures 2,030 mm long, 780 mm wide and 1,070 mm tall, with a short 1,345 mm wheelbase that should make it nimble in traffic. Seat height is 810 mm, a little taller than the TNT 150i, and ground clearance is 170 mm. Kerb weight is 147 kg and the maximum load is 185 kg. The fuel tank holds 10 litres, which is small, so expect more frequent fuel stops on long rides. Benelli does not publish a fuel economy figure.
Instead of the trellis frame used on most Benelli models, the 180S has a perimeter frame. The rear uses a Pro-link single shock with 50 mm of travel, while the front suspension offers 110 mm of travel. It rides on aluminium alloy wheels with 100/80-17 and 130/70-17 tyres, and stops with a 260 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc. ABS is not mentioned on the official page. Official colours are Matte Black and Bright Red.
Benelli’s Pakistan website does not publish warranty terms for the 180S. Ask the dealer to confirm the warranty period, free services and parts availability in writing, especially because some dealers quote delivery times of several months on booking.
The 180S is sold in a single version at Rs 1,050,000 ex-factory, so the only decision is colour. In our opinion, it suits a rider stepping up from a 125cc or 150cc bike who wants sharper performance, a six-speed gearbox and liquid cooling without moving to a 250cc. Its weaknesses are the small fuel tank, the high price compared with Japanese 150cc bikes, and the lack of a published ABS system. If you want more power for highway riding, the TNT 25 is listed at the same price in the list we used, so compare both before booking.
