Engine and plug-in hybrid system

The Omoda 7 SHS-P is a plug-in hybrid SUV. It pairs Chery’s fifth-generation 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, designed specifically for hybrid use, with electric drive and an 18.4 kWh battery. Omoda Pakistan quotes a combined system output of 255 kW (341 hp) and 525 Nm, sent to the front wheels through a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission. Official figures include a pure-electric range of 90+ km (WLTP), a combined range of up to 1,250 km, combined fuel consumption of 4.9 L/100 km and 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds (the brochure says 8.4). The 60-litre tank takes RON 92 petrol, and drive modes include Normal, Eco and Sport.

Charging and V2L

The battery can power external appliances through 3.3 kW vehicle-to-load, which is useful for camping or during power cuts. Omoda Pakistan does not publish charging power, charging times or the connector type for the Omoda 7, so confirm these with a dealer before booking.

Size and practicality

At 4,660 mm long, 1,875 mm wide and 1,670 mm tall on a 2,720 mm wheelbase, it is a C-segment SUV, clearly larger than the Omoda E5. The rear seats split 60:40 and fold flat, and there is an electric tailgate. The website lists 200 mm of ground clearance, but the official brochure says 172 mm. Boot capacity is not published.

Equipment

One version is sold in Pakistan. The official price list includes 20-inch alloy wheels, a 540-degree HD panoramic camera, a panoramic sunroof, an 8.8-inch digital cluster, a 15.6-inch sliding touchscreen with a Snapdragon 8155 chip, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a head-up display, a dash camera, a 12-speaker Sony system and 50W wireless charging. Seats are leatherette, with power adjustment for both front seats, driver memory and electric lumbar support, ventilation, and a zero-gravity passenger seat with massage. Safety includes eight airbags, ESP, ABS, EBD, brake assist, tyre pressure monitoring, front and rear parking sensors and an ADAS suite with adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning and prevention, traffic congestion assist and rear collision warning.

Warranty

The official website lists 6 years or 150,000 km for the vehicle and 8 years or 160,000 km for the battery.

Which variant to buy

There is a single variant at Rs 10,649,000 ex-factory, offered in five colours at the same price; freight and transit insurance of Rs 55,000 are extra. In our opinion, the Omoda 7 suits buyers who want electric running for daily commutes without range worries on intercity trips, and its equipment list is very generous for the price. Confirm the current price before booking, as the launch price lock has ended.
